I think that many of the elderly find things that they can actually use to be very thoughtful gifts. Maybe a warm throw made in her favorite colors, some suede slippers, or a good book to read in her spare time might be considerable gifts. Maybe a board game she would enjoy playing with friends or family, a nice photo calendar with her friends and family's birth dates and anniversaries filled in. You could put together a little garden kit for her to start in the spring (a pot, a bag of soil, some seeds from various flowers, a watering can and a gift card to a local nursery)! You could give her a voucher or gift card to a local spa to get a manicure and pedicure done. Try to think about the things that she does during the day and what things she enjoys doing and go from there. Good luck! :)

How about some classic literature, retro radio/record player, music box, musical carousel, Faberge Christmas ornament, china set, or a plaque with bible scriptures...there are plenty of ideas.
Think of something sentimental and timeless, that will remind her of the era she grew up in and the love of her family.
The Mr. Christmas company is well known for selling classic/retro Christmas items. I would recommend them.
Check out these websites. I hope they give you some good ideas. Have a Merry Christmas!

What does she need? Slippers, bathrobe, a blanket? New sheets for her bed? A new pillow?
Does she do crafts, like needlepoint, embroidery, or knitting?
What are her favorite colors?
What does she like to do? What kind of music does she like? Is she in her own home, or an assisted living place?
Also, it's the end of October, almost two months until Christmas, so why don't you just ask her what she would like to get for Christmas?
If need be, maybe a gift card for her to shop for groceries or clothes, etc. Whatever she may need or want. Offer to take her shopping.
Take care.

I'm a bit past 50 but here's my ideas... a Kindle, scented candles, really good bakeware, pearl earrings, new bathroom towels, a spa day, a subscription to a favorite magazine, a donation to my favorite charity, tickets to an event to attend with my daughter or husband, attachments for my Kitchenaid mixer, my favorite perfume or body cream. Hope this helps.

Name a star after her! My aunt will be 102 in November, that is what we have decided to do. She has everything else in the world she needs and wants. Name it something she would like.
You get an official document and a plaque. It's about $50 to $150.

She still lives at home, works in the garden, cans tomatoes, gets around pretty good! I am in awe. When I start gripping about aches and pains I just think of her and shut my mouth!

Something really personal
An old memory? A favourite book/movie/record
Something practical? A nice thick duvet, new shoes, a rug or throw?
A scrapbook from over the years?

Basically something to comfort and make the lady happy
She deserves it after so long! :D
