At 2012 after Christ is not near to the time allowed for Satan from Eden.
Year 6073 now in 2007 after Christ Jesus was in Rome world Empire #6, 4419 years after flood, 3560 years after Moses began the bible, and 2613 years after Babylon world Empire #3 ended Judah kings.
So is year 6078, in 2012 after Christ Jesus was in Rome world Empire #6,
the non bible prediction of the end of the world and Jesus 1000 year reign?
Satan is allowed 6130 years to make a mess of everything, death for that long, Rev.12:3,4,6-11,12; have 1/3 angels and only God knows how many rebel humans, 1Cor.15:22-28; death and Satan Heb.2:9,14,16; will end, he's caused the heavens and the earth 2Pet.3:13; to have to be made as new as before Eden in Rev.20:1-6,12,13; no Satan 1000 years, Rev.21:1-5; so 7130 years after he began to mess it up, Jesus has it all SAVED and perfect for God, all perfect will remain.

I assure you that the world will not end on December 21, 2012 or in the near future. Nostradamus prediction when the earth will end is far into the future, past about 3700. The Mayan’s Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by Jose Arguelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about 21 December 2012 (Wikipedia).
In the book of Revelation, it tells us about a period of a thousand years of peace. Has this occurred already since the time of Jesus? Not yet. That will still come. Those that give such predictions as 2012 and numerous times during the past are pseudo-preachers. Have they talked to God directly? If so, give proofs.
But there is something that is certain—and that is our physical death. This is what we should prepare for. It may come when least expected. We do not know the day and the hour. It will come like a thief in the night. So we just have to be prepared all the time. Search for the true God and when we find Him, follow His commandments and remain in Him until our last dying breath.
This is all that we have to do. It is faith in Him that we can take with us when we depart from this world. If we deny Him, He will deny us also before the Father in Heaven. If we know Him and love Him and followed His commandments, then He may reward us to live with Him eternally in His kingdom in Heaven. This is the survival kit that we should have.

When the Bible talks about an end to the world people are confused about this because of a bad translation. In the Old Testament, the word translated as world, is, olam. In the New Testament, the word translated world, is, eon.
Both olam and eon, mean a long span of time. A better translation would be end of the age. When Jesus returns, it marks the beginning of a new era. Things will not go on as they did before. Jesus will rule the planet for a thousand years.
Actually, when I looked up the meaning of the word, world, recently, I found that one of it's meanings was, a long span of time. So, again, the end of the world doesn't mean the end of the planet.
Now, that doesn't mean that there won't be hard times just before Jesus returns. In Matthew, Chap.24, Jesus says that just before He returns that things will get so bad that if He didn't return, everyone on earth would die. Then He will come back.
I have learned to be very leary of the History Channel when it comes to religious things. I saw that program. Nostradomus used language that was very vague. When they said on the program that certain things he said meant this and that, the words could have easily meant something else. I don't know that anything that Nostradamus said, actually came true.
The book that has had the most predictions come true is the Bible. I think that over 600 things that the Bible predicted actually came true.

Me quoting from a christian? "What we see we see through a glass darkly." Paul.
Nosetradamus, Mother Shipman, the Mayan calender, All predicted a major event will occur in the year 2012 The Mayan said specifically December 21st. No one has predicted the world will end. That is the way some people are interpreting the ambiguous prophecies of the past. No one can make a defiant prediction of just what it will be. There are too many variables. Most surely the unpredictability of mankind. That is why prophecies are always written so vaguely.
Stay tuned, a major event will occur in 2012. What? Good question! Just as 2000 ushered in a major shift in religious and environmental thinking that is on going and growing. Because it was not instant and spectacular people say nothing happened.

Well, the Mayan calendar ends on Dec. 21, 2012. Some people think there will be some sort of cataclysmic event on that day because it is also the day that the planets in our solar system are in perfect alignment. There are several Internet sites dedicated to this belief, but very few say the world will end, just that there will be a radical shift in how we perceive time and/or our existence.

Yeah, well. A lot of people have always had many predictions that the world would be ending pretty much any day now. So far, they've been wrong. I'm willing to go with the simple answer "no, that's dumb."
And hey, if I'm wrong, well, the world will be over and nobody will know, right?

It is just the end of the Mayan calendar's cycle. Every astronomers predicted this to be an important date because our earth, sun and the center of the Galaxy will be aligned together. It means nothing except that people in the past were very good at observing the stars. Damn good.

No. Nobody ever said the world would end in 2012, even the crazies who love to predict stuff based on haphazardly thrown together calculations. The whole conspiracy is whacked. The only reason to believe the world will end in 2012 is because that's when the Mayan calendar ends. If you choose to believe the world will end just because of this fact, please leave your testicles at the door.

NO, but that assuming you are using the Gregorian calendar. Look up the idea of accommodation - people can take the present circumstance and find predictions for it in the past, but other "predictions" are forgotten or ignored.
