I have a no solicitators, no canvassers, no peddlers sign on my door -- they ignore it and knock anyway.

A long time ago I requested that they please take me off their list and stop visiting my home. They rudely ignore this and continue to make visits almost once a month.

It is so annoying!

Is there anything you can suggest so that I might be able to stop what feels like harrassment in my own home?

You have no idea just how far off the track you are here.

First off, God does NOT sin. So that pretty much trumps out the rest of your question

to think that God is an angel...it is ridiculous

this question lacks enough rational and intelligence.

The Bible is for those who can see!

The problem is that you said if admitting you are no longer a Christian sends you to hell then so be it because you don't want to spend eternity with these kind of people. You will be. They are going to hell too if they don't get their lives in order.

I thought you started off sounding fairly intelligent but somewhere along the way you took a really bad turn!

It is illogical to ask a question about something that you are saying is not true. If you don't believe in the rapture, why discuss it? Is this just a chance to rant a little about Christians? Why waste your time and ours on insincere pseudo-questions?

If you have a real question, bring it on. If not then why bring it up? Find some questions about a non-spiritual subject where there can be real discussion instead of attempts to bait people who believe in the rapture.

Angel Tears
The 'what if' is merely a waste of time for true believers.

better rethink your question if you get responses like that from nonbelievers.

I don't understand how you can tell which part of the bible is literal and which parts are meant to be 'interpreted'. If all of the supernatural things like turning water to wine, walking on water, rising from the dead were all interpreted to mean something else, then I could understand. It seems as though people believe that those things ACTUALLY happened. But other things that seem to be straight forward have to be interpreted. How do you know WHEN to interpret? What if school books were that way? How do you interpret 2+2? I interpret it to mean 4. Can it be interpreted to mean 2,344,235?

Someone sent me, in an email about kindness etc... "We know of God's existence when we experience the random acts of kindness of others" Is that how God proves his existance, or is it POSSIBLE that people are kind without God's involvement? Is it possible to perform random acts of kindness without having Spirit at the root? Or are random acts of kindness proof of God's existance? Thoughts?

Wouldn't His omnipotence eliminate the chance of a less than desirable creation.

The Bible portrays God as a fallable Creator and humans are the weak, unworthy result of His endeavor.

Why create humans as such weak and dependent creatures when even the lowly beasts suceed without intervention? How does human weakness honor our Creator?

Do you really believe that God made us with less self determination than the beasts of the Earth? How can so many beleivers have such little respect for our Creator?

Thanks

Ok, so many people are so quick to jump on the ills of religion. However, Christianity has probably accomplished more good in the world than the aberrant consequences caused by its MISLED followers.

Let me start:
- countless humanitarian efforts (recently Hurricane Katrina, tsunami disaster relief, etc)
- the abolition of the slave trade in Great Britain in the 19th century was a direct result of Christians lobbying in Parliament
- the Salvation Army is a Christian-based organization that is the largest provider of social aid in the world
- Christians led reform movements in the US in the 19th century: factory reform, temperance, education, child welfare, workplace conditions, etc.
- Millions of Christian missionaries have brought education, reform, medicine and lives of devotion to peoples in all cracks and corners of the world (most of them supported by the financial gifts of churches)

I am trying to make my list longer, can you help? Thank you very much.

Killing others and yourself in the process to prove a point???

Is it really necessary? Aren't there better ways to prove a point than killing yourself and others?

Or does making an omelette require breaking a few eggs? (Figuratively speaking, of course)

This is sort of complicated to explain. But before I dated my girlfriend I only dated boys. I like dating girls more than boys and I find girls attractive, but I also find some boys attractive. She keeps saying "how can you be with me if your straight" and I keep saying I'm not and she's trying to categorize me. I think I don't know what I am...I just go with what I'm feeling. I don't really think it's bisexual...because I really don't know where on the "gay scale" it is (as some lesbians would date guys and some straight women would consider dating girls). I don't really feel a need to place myself in a little labelled box. What should I tell her? Thanks.

I am a little conflicted about some thing. I have a problem with the way my city has allowed a black chamber to convey with out questions as to how much would this offend other races. I’m not racists I don’t think, but I would like to know if I wanted to start a Brown Chamber would they let me? And how about a White Chamber? Is that okay? And if we did would it be looked at as some sort of attack on the Black Chamber? Would I have to carry a gun? I want to know why there has to be a Moreno Valley Black Chamber?
