aren't you just a body?---Unless the head of your body is Jesus you will remain in the grave---Is this why so many fundementalists have trouble understanding the body of Christ and everything connected to it? They are not a member of it?

Jesus will cut off any part of his body that is dead or causing the rest of the body to die. He tells us to do the same thing..."if your hand causes you to sin, even if it is your good hand, cut it off. it is better that you enter into life maimed than for your whole body to be thrown into hell." if you cut off your pinky finger what will happen to it? won't it die and rot away? so will it happen to anything that Jesus cuts off from his body.
John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned."

We have no trouble understanding it at all. We are part of the invisible church, the universal church, comprising of people from all nations, tongues and tribes. Jesus is the head of the Church, the only Head. There is no "vicar" of Christ, He is all we need.

Rom 12:5 so we the many are one body in Christ, and each one members of one another,

1Co 12:11 But the one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing separately to each as He wills.
1Co 12:12 Even as the body is one, and has many members, but all the members of the one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
1Co 12:13 For also we all were baptized by one Spirit into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, even all were given to drink into one Spirit.

Eph 4:11 And indeed He gave some to be apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 with a view to the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ,
Eph 4:13 until we all may come to the unity of the faith and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

Col 2:16 Then do not let anyone judge you in eating, or in drinking, or in part of a feast, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths,
Col 2:17 which are a shadow of coming things, but the body is of Christ.
Col 2:18 Let no one condemn you, delighting in humility and worship of the angels, pushing into things which he has not seen, being puffed up by the mind of his flesh without cause,
Col 2:19 and not holding fast the Head, from whom all the body having been supplied through the joints and bands, and being joined together, will grow with the growth of God.
Col 2:20 If, then, you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why are you under its decrees, as living in the world?
Col 2:21 Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch,
Col 2:22 which things are all for corruption in the using, according to the "injunctions and teachings of men." (Isa. 29:13)
Col 2:23 Which things indeed appear to be a matter of having wisdom in self-imposed worship and humility, and severity in abuse of the body, but are not of any value with regards to gratification of the flesh.

All who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive His free gift of Salvation... those become part of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. Those are the ones of The True Christian Faith. Only those of The Church will enter Heaven...

God has no interest in any of man's invented "religions", "denomionations", sects, cults or papist deceptions.

Only those of The Church will enter Heaven.

Fundamentalist, Christian, member of the body of Christ...so what body are you talking about that I should be connected to? If it is the Catholic Church, then that is NOT the body of Christ. Jesus Christ never sanctioned, mentioned or supported ANY of the "extras" that the Roman Catholic Church has added to His Holy Word and even warned us to not add to or take away from His Word. So, please clarify what body it is that you think I am not a part of and what exactly it is that I don't understand.

Hey now, I'm a fundamentalist and I AM in the body of Christ. So unless you want to tell me he's a self mutilator, I'd say you're the one who's a little detached.
Quit hating.
