Ok, so many people are so quick to jump on the ills of religion. However, Christianity has probably accomplished more good in the world than the aberrant consequences caused by its MISLED followers.
Let me start:
- countless humanitarian efforts (recently Hurricane Katrina, tsunami disaster relief, etc)
- the abolition of the slave trade in Great Britain in the 19th century was a direct result of Christians lobbying in Parliament
- the Salvation Army is a Christian-based organization that is the largest provider of social aid in the world
- Christians led reform movements in the US in the 19th century: factory reform, temperance, education, child welfare, workplace conditions, etc.
- Millions of Christian missionaries have brought education, reform, medicine and lives of devotion to peoples in all cracks and corners of the world (most of them supported by the financial gifts of churches)
I am trying to make my list longer, can you help? Thank you very much.

I like your question. This might be smaller scale than you were expecting. This is from one medium sized church:
1. Give out groceries for free to dozens of families every week.
2. Continually Fixes up broken cars and given them to the needy.
3. Sent 3 semi-trucks full of supplies for Hurricane Katrina relief shortly after and has sent others since.
4. Give out free mocha's and cookies on April 15th for those in line at the post office mailing taxes.
5. Provide free child care.
6. Have free support groups for widows, sex addiction and lots of others.
7. Provides encouragement, thank-you notes, cookies etc. for firemen, policemen etc.
8. Sends free school supplies and backpacks to kids at the start of school that have a hard time affording them.
9. Sends free toys to kids at Christmastime around the country.
10. I know about a dozen kids that have been adopted by families in our church.
11. Aids kits are assembled and sent to help relieve symptoms and provide care.
This is just a few off the top of my head what I remember our church has done. It's hard to imagine the good done with all of the Christian churches put together. I guess I'm kind of bragging (sorry), but it's not about me. I see other churches doing lots of stuff like this too.

In contrast to the Christian system, modern materialistic philosophies do not provide a strong basis for reform. Humanism is, in effect, a philosophic smuggler; it has borrowed the "dignity of man" from Christian precepts and has not bothered to say, "Thank you."

You're right and they are jealous....That is the List and they cannot deny it...The First Universities were started by Christians, the sciences, music, literary arts and the printing press. Today Christians are fighting Modern Slavery around the world. Mind you very few speak up against their persecution in Third World Countries.

Christianity has done nothing for mankind but cause problems, war being the worst. Religion in general is the root of all evil. I hope one day the world will wake up and see its not one god that keeps us safe and we are no different than every living organism on this planet. The earth should be our main purpose since it supports life and we need to take care of it. Air, water and light is what we need to survive..not some fictional god or entity. Humans and humans alone control their own destiny.

Too add on to Keltasia's answer, remember the Mayan civilization? Neither does anyone else. Why? Because Spanish invaders completely decimated their people and history because they were hesitant to give up their ancient beliefs in favor of Christianity.

How about the starving people that are DENIED food by missionaries because they don't want to convert? Or the ones that are DENIED medical treatment for the same reason? It doesn't say much for your religion that they are so quick to want to grab the spotlight any time they do what is considered to be their duty. "Oh look, God, see how GOOD I'm being."

I was going to answer until I read the word "misled" in your question. If you're going to be closed-minded about the morality of non-believers, than my answer wouldn't penetrate you anyway.
Peace be with you.
