When I was a Christian, I struggled with so many things and tried to rationalize my judgments against others using scripture.

The Bible says this and that, therefore, you are in sin and you need to repent, etc...

After learning that Jesus never even existed, I talked with Christian apologists, and they convinced me that He did, in fact, exist and that there was plenty of historic evidence for Jesus..

Then, I dug a little deeper and found that the information they were feeding me was wrong, and that the evidences for his existence was, in fact, slim to none...

So I am now an atheist, and I am kinder and have a much more real sense of morality than I ever have!

How is this possible?

you may think this is a silly question (which it is , lol) but i've resently got into eddie izzard who is really funny and a genius. i love crossdressser /transvestites and all that, (who are mostly men and not gay or even wrong, by the way. shut up) they are funny and can even be cute and stuff
now, i'm british and in the UK, and we are a liberal country and all but my brother thinks you need to have a license to be a transvesite . lol i think this is silly as you can just dress how you want really

Stories about obvious religious issues lead to other links. Stories about, for instance, sexual misconduct are likely to lead to the hard to find religion page. Why? What bias is at work? Could, as least, the religious story page be easier to find - like listed with the rest of the subjects?

It seems, here in the Bible Belt, that most Christians are the most gossipy, mean, prejudiced and uppity people I've ever met.

What's the point of being a Christian if it seems to make you meaner?

I realize that many people will say that Christians face the same sins and that Satan attacks Christians, especially - but you would think that people who read the Bible every day and pray every day would at least grow spiritually!

I do not know one Christian whom I would call, "kind."

Maybe this religion has just run it's course and it's time for people to cling to what is more suitable to today's society.

I mean a person who could never imagine God as one who kills, or even wounds, i.e. they ignore Duet. 32:39. They don't believe in Hell, rather that God will forgive us all. They would rather replace "fear the Lord" with "revere[ence] the Lord". In fact they fear not the Lord.
Do you think this is a form of (mental) idolatry?
