...can having been brought up a Catholic have psycohological effects on you? If so, what are they and how do they manifest themselves?

I'm a 24 female and looking for a unique costume idea. I don't want anything gory or skimpy and am leaning towards something that I can be halfway cute in. I have an idea for Wenda from Where's Waldo, or Lisa from David the Gnome (even though I don't think that would give me much of a chance to be cute), or if nothing unique, then something just funny like the Jack in the Box guy or a lobster. Any ideas?

Opinions please.
I go to the salon to get my nails done, I've always kept them long and maintained and go the same salon.
About 6 months ago a new girl started working there and took over the manicures and pedicures. At first she was complimenting me on my nails and very friendly, then she started giving me her discount when I came in for my appointment. Tuesday night she had me scheduled I had to cancel because of a late meeting. She told me to come by after I got off she would be there. I did,she spent her own time after work filling my nails then she was locking up and would walk out with me. She jokingly took my hand in hers and said she was glad I came by she loved doing my nails and told me not to worry about the appointment and asked if I wanted to grab a bite to eat. I told her I had to be up early, I thanked her for doing my nails.
Is she coming onto me ? I have never had feelings towards another girl but now wonder and dont want to be a fool if she not coming on.

One of my coleagues from highschool just told once a guy "sorry, i'm buddhist, mom is muslim and dad is busy...."

I saw people slamming the door to their faces, others start a conversation with them on religious matters...I just prefere to say "Yes, yes, I found Jesus, yes, thank you, have a nice day." First few times I actually listened, but they keep coming and I already know I'm not interested in what they want to say, otherwise I wouldn't be that rude.

What is your reaction?

I am currently taking Quranic Lessons. But the problem is, in America, you won't and can't get the same kind of Islam and Quranic Education you would as if you were in a Muslim Country. Like, for example, if you hear a hafiz who studied in Saudia Arabia, and a Hafiz who studied here, you will see that the Hafiz who studied in saudia Arabia will have better prounciation.

So my question is, when i grow up, can i perfect my Quran?Like can i take lessons in Saudia Arabia ( they must speak English -- the tutors) or any muslim country to perfect my prounciation and other things (such as when to make the letters sound long and when to keep it short)

And maybe after i perfect my Quran, can i become hafiz by taking some kind of a course in Saudia Arabia? ( i know they have hafiz camp there)

I really want to speak Arabic fluently and read the Quran accurately... so please help !!

are sent to a Catholic school, are confirmed aged 14, go to church every Sunday until you are 18, when you leave to go to University and suddenly stop going to church and realise your life doesn't change when you stop going, and pretty much give up on the whole idea, to what extenet do you think your Catholic upbringing remains in you? I mean, if you haven't violently rejected the religion, just don't practice it or are apathetic towards it. Is a person like this likely to be affected in some way by their religious past? It'd be good to hear the perspective of some people who have been through this. Thanks.

Or does it come naturally?

I have no 'spiritual' component. No desire for a higher power, or for answers. I don't 'doubt' anything - I plainly do not believe.

What about you? Could you decide to be a person of faith if you wanted to?

Is "Heaven" ostentatious, or are the bad guys lurking just outside?

There are so many religious questions here, its ridiculous.
Its like a war between internet christians and internet muslims to see who can post the most questoins about their religion.

By cause i mean some kind of an issue. It could be global warming, the genocide, segregation, the crisis in the middle east.. it can be ANYTHING

But I want a muslim point of view

For example, one of my issues would be : Islamic Extremism & terrorism because i feel that because of some stupid people, muslims are being streotyped as bad people, and Islam is being viewed as a violent and intolerant religion WHEN IT IS NOT!!

My coworker and I share a common wall between our private offices. She conducts every single call on speaker phone. The wall is not sound-proof and is only a means of providing privacy between our offices. I think she believes that if she closes her office door then no one can hear her. She has been doing this more and more lately. This week is especially bad. Now she's even conducting personal calls on speaker phone. She has an expensive wireless headset that she doesn't use either. I would like to ask her to stop using speaker phone, but she's not the nicest person. In fact, she's rather mean spirited.

So, should I ask her?

Gen 6:4
There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

I was sitting and minding my business in rest room and suddenly i heard voices of jerking and moaning.
To my shock someone was giving himself a treat.I also saw the guy afterwards and asked him to not to do so in a offical environment.
He said he has right to do whatever he does in privacy.

Should i report him or he does have right to mastrubate in office rest room?

AOL has this blurb about how "older" women should dress, and bunches checked in bragging about how they can wear all the latest fashions because they look so youthful.

Maybe they do, and maybe they can. I don't and I can't, but I don't want someone looking down her nose at me because I don't. I hate the way "society" tries to cram people into little molds. And people willingly allow themselves to be manipulated thusly.
