For various reasons, I have been off the forum for a few days here and there. First, I was sick, and could hardly stay up long enough to do the things necessary to run a home. Then family obligations hit, and of course that comes first. The last few days I just backed off because I realized I needed time to myself, and I did not want to sling out answers that were not well thought out. I have been on this sight for several months now, and it seems like it is less tolerant than when I first logged on. I have come to care for so many people here, some of whom I intend to contact by email and ask to be added to their contacts. I guess I am wondering since good manners are free, why aren't more people using them? Why do people feel so free to hit the "Report" button for questions that do not violate any guidelines? Are you a person that just can't wait to violate over a minor infraction, or do you just take a pass, if you know what I mean?

My question is simple...
Will creationists now eat their words raw, or will they cook them first?
Maybe add some spices?
Or, will they just deny ever having said such a thing?

Why, in your opinion, do so many religious people grasp to such ludicrous beliefs, fantasies and yearnings? Is it insecurity? Ignorance? Fear? All of the above?
With all of the science that exists today and its reaches with answers, it seems so ridiculous that people would still believe in religious crutches and beliefs. Even with all the evidence that points to the bible being vastly falsified and made up, religious still insist n believing. Why?
I cannot, personally, imagine living my life believing in a sky faerie or other such mystical being. The natural aging and death of me, albeit it bit of a bummer, is rather a beautiful thing.
And who do the religious insist that those of us who do not believe have no morals, values and are incapable of living happy, honest, loving and caring lives?
Any comments or thoughts are welcome. ANY bible quotes will result in you being reported.

This is a catholic religious course in order for them to be confirmed into the catholic church. Although I was brought up Catholic and my husband had no religious upbringing, I do not believe I have to send my children to catholic classes in order for them to be a good person and believe in God. My parents are very upset at my decision. I am 31yrs old and have a right to raise my children the way I want to. I want them to be good people and respect others. I am not going to force any religion upon them. I will teach them what I've been taught and they can make their own choices from there. I just feel as though my parents will disown me if I don't send them to these classes. And my husband does not agree with these classes at all. What do I do?

The Bible says the earth was flat or a circle (contradicts itself), Magellan sailed AROUND the earth proving that the earth is a sphere.

Job 38:12-13 "take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it

Matthew 4:1-12 "[T]he devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them"

The Bible says that the earth did not move and the sun orbited around the earth because the Bible says that. They were wrong. Galileo was imprisoned for life and one of his friends was killed by the church.

(Psalms 93:1)"Surely the world is established so that it cannot be moved."

Samuel 2:8)"For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, And He has set the world upon them". If you go to any seashore, you are bound to see houses built on pillars, and yet the houses don't move. How strange.

The Bible says that rabbits chewed their cud.
Lev. 11:6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud"

My grandpa was a freemason until he "saw its evils" and went to become a Christian minister. He keeps my grandma in fear about it saying that if he tells anyone anything about it, the masons will kill him. I know this to not be true, based on alot of research and my brother who is in the fraternity. I got into an argument with my grandpa over the fraternity and the oath you take. How do I convince my grandma, possibly my grandpa, that freemasonry isn't a cult, or against Christian values. (I am 100% for Freemasonry, and firmly believe in its tenets. My problem is, my grandparents don't understand Masonry and why it has to have secrets. Again, This is in no way disrespecting Masons, I'm simply trying to alleviate their fears. NO ANTI-MASONIC REPLIES PLEASE!!!!!!!)

I have gotten so many Christians telling me he was an atheist and wanted to kill every Christian (Catholic or not). I also have read quotes such as:

"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter.

In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was his fight against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed his blood upon the Cross." ---Adolf Hitler

I asked an earlier question about female pastors, right or wrong. Quite a few mentioned cultural changes as a reason.
If the Bible says in Malachi that "I, the Lord, do not change," how did the interpretation change in the Bible? Did it "change" because of the cultural change? If it did, then God must have changed with the culture. We have a paradox here.
If the Bible is ALL God inspired, then even when it is was written, would still be effective today as it was yesterday. If Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, how does the Word change from culture to culture if He doesn't?

Christians, is this a form of witchcraft? Where can I get a solid answer for a friend who is not saved and is questioning if his son should be wearing this bracelet. Is this not something that people who practice Santeria (witchcraft) give to their newborns? Can this child be effected spiritually by wearing this bracelet.

What is your opinion of this video? Watch it all the way through and tell me what you think...It is one of the best documentaries I have seen on the subject and I watch videos from both sides of the spectrum....(who was it that said know your enemy?)

If you answer quickly I will know you did not take the time to watch it objectionably and I promise I will watch any video you post as well. I am not looking for negativity only honest debate after viewing the video...Please do send me links to videos to watch, but do not tell me to read the Bible...I have read the Bible cover to cover many times and can recite still the lessons that were taught to me during my Catholic upbringing. This is not meant to intimidate anyone, only to educate objectionably. Both the Old Testament and New Testament are covered.
