Many People say that All good persons go top heaven. However, when asked why they go to heaven, they may say:"It is to be with God," or 'It is the reward for being good' What does the Bible teach about this?
The Bible makes it clear that Jesus was raised from the dead and that he went to heaven. Why did Jesus go to heaven? The answer to this question are important. This is because those who go to heaven will share with Jesus in his work. They go to heaven for that very purpose.
Jesus will rule over the paradise new earth as king of God's heavenly government. Long before Jesus came to the earth, the Bible book of Daniel fortold that the'son of man' would be given rulership. The "Son of man" is Jesus Christ.(Mark14:41,62) And Daniel goes on to say:"His rulership is an indefinately lasting rulership that will not pass away, and his kingdom will not be brought to ruin"(Daniel7:134,14).
However, it is important to note here in the book of Daniel that the "son of man" is not to rule alone. The Bible says:"And who are the holy ones of the Supreme one. Their kingdom is an indefinately lasting kingdom."(Daniel7:27). These expressions "the people and their kingdom" let us know that others will rule with Christ in God's kingdom government. That
, then means that those people who go to heaven go there for the purpose mentioned earlief to rule with Christ in God's kingdom government.

There are not many scriptures that are available to describe it. It only mentions things like Paradise, many mansions (places of abode) and the like.

There have been a few near death testimonies that describe a beautiful place where all your questions are answered, there are always new things to learn, beautiful music with tones that cannot be heard here, beautiful colors that our eyes cannot see on this earth, building beautiful places for our loved ones who have yet to arrive, people even able to fly. Mostly they describe an awesome love beyond description, and being able to be with Jesus. It certainly is not some boring place where they polish brass statues and sing doleful dirges!

There is one passage in Revelation that describes the New Jerusalem, though some of it may be symbolic, we will have to wait and see.

Rev. 21:18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure agold, as it were transparent bglass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the cearth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

No one can tell you exactly what you will be doing in Heaven. The scriptures tell us many things about Heaven, but not as much as we would like.
Here are some scriptures you might like to read:
John 14:2-4 also 3:16
Matthew 18:3-4
The four gospels have a lot on Heaven, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Revelations also has a lot of scripture on Heaven.
The Bible is full of what to expect in Heaven, but we will never know all there is to know about Heaven until we go there.
But for me, the main reason IS to be with God.

lol -- Partying with God is probably not far from the truth!

There are not many scriptural references. There is some talk about streets of gold and mansions, but I hope most readers are mature enough to know that these are metaphors.

Whatever heaven will be it will be better than what we imagine. Myself, I think it will be the joy of unity. Unity with God, unity with other people, and unity within ourselves.

And human beings stagnate w/o challenges. So I think we will still have challenges and opportunities to grow in heaven, but in some way, those opportunities will be clearer and easier to surmount than they are here.

God will have work for those who go to heaven. I saw the first level of heaven in a vision after I asked if my EX would get in. She did at the lowest level. When time and space no longer mater we will work with our spirits doing God's will with out our sinful nature getting in the way. All Praise Honor and Glory to the one true God.

Anyone who believes in Jesus as their personal Savior can go to Heaven...

But why would they want to? God created the earth and everything in it in 6 days. When Jesus left this earth, He said He will go and prepare a place for us. Well, if he has been away for 2000+ years, it is sure to be an awesome place. It will not just be fluffy clouds and harps. I believe we will be able to explore, be creative and do much of what we wanted on earth without the hindrances we have now.

The purpose is to live eternally. There's manual labor in hell, not to mention the smell. For those unlucky to be in the lake, it's a device similar to a smelter. While, there is work to be done in Heaven, it's far easier. If you want to be with God forever, you must accept His Son, ask for forgiveness, and be baptized of the Holy Spirit.

Don't look to scripture for an answer. It is too full of human interjecture. Try this, Think about the most wonderful moment in your life. Not what you heard, or saw, or tasted, but that feeling. A delightful, warm, glowing feeling that now exists within the spiritual essence of "God". This feeling is never ending, it is 'heaven'. Just my viewpoint.

It is important to understand what "goodness" is. Goodness is the cause of well-being, happiness, stability, strength, beauty, self-respect and self-esteem.

When one respects life and the property of others, when one acts sexually with the understanding that sex is about love, caring, sharing, protection and family, when one speaks with kind and gentle words, when one does not get addicted to or controlled by drugs, alcohol, greed, etc, then one has goodness.

With goodness, one acts in a way that does not harm one's life and loses one's natural integrity as a human being. One does not lose their 'normalcy'.

For example, when people kill or go to war, they often become psychologically deranged. The same when people steal. They become ill and untrusted by others. Or when people are sexually promiscuous, there lives and minds are always confused and agitated, like Britney Spears, etc. Drugs and alcohol are the same, with which people destroy their well-being, physcially and mentally. Greed is the same.

Therefore goodness brings "heaven" in this life, now and in the future. Or if you wish to believe, in this life and the next.

Please never separate "goodness" from its benefits in this life. Kindness, generosity, love, consideration, gratitude, caring, having a clear and bright heart and mind, being wise....all these things are goodness, which protect the lives and innate well-being of humans.

Not everyone can go to Heaven no matter how much that person may want to. God's is the one who calls the shots.
The Bible tells us that there is going to be a New Earth, a earth filled with Rightoeus people. That is something worth looking forward to as well.
