For various reasons, I have been off the forum for a few days here and there. First, I was sick, and could hardly stay up long enough to do the things necessary to run a home. Then family obligations hit, and of course that comes first. The last few days I just backed off because I realized I needed time to myself, and I did not want to sling out answers that were not well thought out. I have been on this sight for several months now, and it seems like it is less tolerant than when I first logged on. I have come to care for so many people here, some of whom I intend to contact by email and ask to be added to their contacts. I guess I am wondering since good manners are free, why aren't more people using them? Why do people feel so free to hit the "Report" button for questions that do not violate any guidelines? Are you a person that just can't wait to violate over a minor infraction, or do you just take a pass, if you know what I mean?

I think there were alot of regulars who were more positive that had their accounts deleted recently or they just took a vacation. I haven't seen Pangel around...she might be under a new name...and she is very positive. The best we can do is be a good example I think. Thats why I challenged R&S to be thumbs up fairies tonight. I got alot of commitments, but there were also alot who refused to leave the thumbs down button alone. :(

A few weeks ago, I posted a statement saying, "Let us remember 9/11 as this Tuesday approaches. God bless the victims and God bless the USA."

I was mortified when someone reported me because it was not an actual question. How lame is that? People these days are so willing to report anything, even it's a matter of respect and dignity!

Though it was kind of a violation on my part, I realized that some people are going to be jerks and there's nothing I can do to stop that. Instead of retaliating, I just let it slide.

That became advise of you. he's under no criminal duty to enable you to utilize his pc - it could have been a effective gesture yet you haven't any longer have been given any awesome to anticipate it. Getting assignments in on time is your duty, no longer his; from the sounds of it you're at a school, which skill you in all probability have a working laptop or pc lab on campus you have used. right here is hoping you fail and the 'dork' steals your female pal via fact she figures out he's extra of an person than you're.

Religion is one of those subjects that can't exist in polite conversation. Differences, no matter how small, make some people really mad for whatever reason. They will report something and be like "ew that's an atheist, she's just insulting me." or "ew that's a Christian, she's just insulting me."

I don"t use this section much but i guess it gets more volatile in here than other sections because religion is such a controversial topic.

I think also many people forget that there are real people behind the computer, and so find it easier to attack than they would face to face in real life.

It comes and goes. The over reporting has been a problem for a long time.

Really? I don't think so. I first started coming to the Religion/Spirituality section about a year ago. Man, everyone was so nasty back then. I think it's gotten much better actually.

I rarely, RARELY report someone. I prefer to give it to them first-hand in an e-mail, but some people keep their e-mail closed, leaving a person no choice but to hit that nasty button you're referring to.

It is definatley not your imagination. People are getting more mean spirited by the day. Not just with their Q&A but in general. :o( All we can do is keep on smiling regardless of them! SMILE
