Do you think the world would be a mirror image of itself (positions simply exchanged) if Adam was villified in the bible instead of Eve (male inferior to female), or do you think there would be substantial changes to societies in general? How?

There is one thing that I can say is a heartfelt truth. Children would be a lot better off throughout the world if women had the control that men now have.
I presume you know George W. Bush won't let health care for children become law. The "men" in parts of Africa won't stop using children as soldiers or targets.

Yeah, I'd go with Eve hands down.

I never really understood why christians villified Eve in the first place--it wasn't her idea to eat the apple in to begin with--she was tempted by a power that she did not understand--and she did put up an argument with Satan! Adam didn't--he just ate the apple because Eve did--sounds to me like Eve never got credit for being at least a little more faithful to God's word than Adam was. That figures!

Good question! I bet society would be very different indeed--maybe more female-dominated than male-dominated (a mirror image, like you say). But since this scenario is about as likely as genesis having been written with Adam as the villian instead of Eve, I guess it's a moot point.
