If you are, are you a theistic Satanist or a non-theistic/ LaVeyan Satanist?
Can you tell me a little bit about what you believe? I'm somewhat familiar with LaVeyan Satanism but I want to hear from people who practice these beliefs

I'm a Theistic Satanist. I'm polytheistic, I believe that Satan is one of many "higher beings" that have existed as long as the universe has and that we, as humans, are able to connect with and relate to. My view of Satan is not limited to the Biblical account of him, although I personally feel that the story of Adam and Eve is wonderfully representative of what he represents -- knowledge, independence, human progress, indulgence, and individuality.

I do not "worship" Satan in the traditional sense of the word; instead, I consider him a friend and a wise teacher. Despite popular belief, we Theistic Satanists do not view Satan or worship him as a being of "Pure Evil".

I believe that I'm able to connect with my Teacher through medtation, to work with him through witchcraft and spellcasting, and to show my thankfulness and appreciation through ritual. Although some of my rituals involve bloodletting -- using a drop of blood as an offering -- I don't practice animal, virgin, or child sacrifice.

I do believe that the Judeo-Christian God exists, but I believe that he is just one of many divine beings (who possibly got a little possessive over his followers, LOL) but I don't seek to overthrow him, nor do I feel that he and Satan are "enemies".

That's about all I can think to tell you at the moment, if you have any more questions you are perfectly welcome to email me.

Oh, and I don't believe in a literal afterlife. I know some Theistic Satanists who believe in reincarnation or a "merging consciousness", and although I think reincarnation could be possible, nothing has been "revealed" to me about the experience beyond death so I have no personal reason to believe that there is a literal afterlife.

CroZ -- you can't possibly understand because you are incapable of viewing anything outside of the narrow constraints of your own faith. I've been a Theistic Satanist for YEARS. I'm not some silly little kid who thinks that dressing in black and saying "Hail Satan" makes me a real practitioner. Don't tell me how to practice my faith, and I won't tell you how to practice your's ... because I am quite knowledgable in Judeo-Christian ideology.

Non-ritualistic, non-theistic Satanist here. My beliefs are similar to LaVeyan Satanism, less the "religious" aspect.

I am. Pretty much LaVeyan here.

I can't WAIT to get a chance to perform Das Tierdrama ritual, but don't know people I trust enough for it.

For me, it's about acknowledging that ritual has a role in human psychology, even in the void of theistic or deistic beliefs.

Cthulhu fhtagn! Cthulhu fhtagn!

I know for a fact there are non-theistic LaVeyanesque Satanists here. I don't think I have ever actually met a literal Devil worshiper here or anywhere, though.

I've got a lot of respect for the dedicated (non "fluffy teen" who'd watched to many horror movies etc etc etc) Satanist.

I'm just sick of being falsely accused of being one because I'm Wiccan.

There is a big difference.

Firstly, Satanism is a Christian (Judaic) philosophy, so if you believe in Satan then you must also believe God exists. Accepting this faith also means you accept that there is only God and Satan, as the bible teaches.

Secondly, seeing as it is a Christian philosophy then that means you're worshiping the source of all evil so all this 'new age' mixing of Satanism and pagan style faiths to make it seem nicer is total baloney. You're kidding yourself.

You should really study your own faith more. The usage of the term 'Satanism' means you are accepting the biblical figure. Given that, then you should know that God and Satan are the only two 'cosmic' forces.
You might know Satan is often referred to as 'he with many names and forms', because he takes many different names and forms. This is because Satan takes different shapes and names (pretends to be the God of such and such) to fool people into following him. Which means those 'other Gods' you mentioned are simply the other forms of Satan. To accept Satan as a real god you must discount every other god - except God (that's with a capital God for you know who).

You aren't.
Satan is Judeo-Christian teaching alone. It was created by Judeo-Christian faiths so therefore your faith is a reaction to Judeo-Christian faiths. You can't call it anything else. The use of the name 'Satan' is deliberately confrontational with Judeo-Christian faiths.

you're the one borrowing from my faith. Pure Satanism and the Judaic faiths apply by the same books.

this doesn't validate your point. Charlie Manson's been a psychotic bastard for years. He's also a Satanist.
