you think of all the thousands of people burned alive; roasted slowly alive on a slow burning spit, red hot tongs dismembering delecate body parts then sprinkled with "holy water"; children stamped on in front of their tortured parents; being sawn in half alive and having limbs ripped from their sockets.

All done in the name of God. (not that God wanted it)

That don't happen any more so at what point did the churches become true christian churches?
Or is it that human society itself changed first thus the clergy could no longer get away with doing this as before?

are all police occifers and soldiers,etc.. that have killed someone going to burn in hell?
should weNOTbe policed ,in any way and just go by what we feel is right(according to the bibble), and hope everybody else does, too?

that would make sense,as far as the "no worldly possessions "deal goes, too.
because the less bling you're flashing ,the less ppl want to take anything away from you. ...including,of course -your life,to get to it. whatever IT is..

Any value that you might attempt to pin to biblical stuff already existed independently in other regions of the world. In fact, it's quite likely that the Old Testament stole its better ideas from things like the Code of Hammurabai, which belonged to the Mesopotamian religion that worshiped Marduk.
Also, what many people envision when they say the word "God" is not the insanity of the Old Testament Yaweh, but rather the Platonic and Aristotelian monotheism of the Greek philosophers. Time to get an education Mr. McCain. Until then, you will not be my president.

A father asked his 10-year old son if he knew about the birds and the bees.
'I don't want to know,' the child said, bursting into tears. 'Promise me you won't tell me.'
Confused, the father asked what was wrong.
The boy sobbed, 'When I was six, I got the 'There's no Easter Bunny' speech.
At seven, I got the 'There's no Tooth Fairy' speech.
When I was eight, you hit me with the 'There's no Santa' speech.
If you're going to tell me that grown-ups don't really get laid, I'll have nothing left to live for.'

He said he wouldn't use water, so he will return with fire. If you deviate from what he says one bit then you're burnt. Kind of like trying to follow the letter of some contract drafted by a lawyer, break one part of it and it becomes null and void. I thought satan was supposed to be the lawyer character.

I woke up happy and gay and skipped to my work desk at dawn to check emails.

Suddenly and with only slight warning I was afflicted with a deep sinking feeling in my large intestine and stomach.

I clicked to Y/A LGBT and checked my point total and I nearly choked on my english muffin.

It will take me 29.2 years to be the number 1 Top Ten contibutor of LGBT at my current rate of 3.5 best "and deserved" answers per month.

I sadly brushed the muffin crumbs from my military -issue boxers and curled up on my bar stool in horror.

What shocking gay or straight revelation have you had recently?

first of all forgive me I do not mean to offend anybody. Just curious to know if you ever look at your children and wonder if you are neglecting their spiritual growth? I mean perhaps , they do believe in something more than the natural...
when i was only 6 years old my family was very secular and when one of us would get sick they would seek witch doctors and somehow i felt it was totally wrong at this age no one had talked to me about God I knew nothing about spirituality yet somehow I felt there was someone watching over me and someone to answer to when I was doing something wrong.
Again my question is do you ever feel like you are neglecting your child in that area of his life? (obviously this only applies to athiest who impart their point of view on their children)...

Mary Magdalene was from Magdala, a town near the Sea of Galilee. The Holy Spirit told us that she was a very beautiful woman. She was not a prostitute but was more of a nymphomaniac. We can deduce that since she was very beautiful, she could easily seduce men or men were attracted to her and fell for her and showered her with gifts, including expensive oil and fragrances.

During the early year of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee, Mary Magdalene, according to the Holy Spirit, tried to tempt Jesus but was unsuccessful. Jesus told her what His mission in this world is and about her person. She must have felt she was rebuffed and was moved by what Jesus told her which she pondered deeply. The Holy Spirit said that she locked herself and stayed inside her house for several days.

She must have sought Jesus afterward and found Him dining with Simon in his house. Luke 7:36-50 narrate the story of this penitent woman who asked for forgiveness of her sins.

I just Love the Word of God--what are some of your favorite Bible verses?

I really like this one:

Matthew 13:21, "Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended."

It reminds us that we should not operate out of a spirit of offense because of persecution--the corresponding verse to this that I really like is this:

Psalms 119:165, "Great peace have they which love thy law: and NOTHING shall offend them."

One of the signs of the END TIME is a spirit of offense, Jesus said:

Matthew 24:9-10, "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall MANY be OFFENDED, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another."

What are some of your favorite Bible verses?

and keep judging Islam based on the actions of a few extreme individuals who’ve taken it upon themselves to do the most heinous crimes in the name of Islam

Prophet Muhammad saws siad:
"Anyone who kills a Non-Muslim who had become our ally will not smell the fragrance of Paradise." (Bukhari)

Whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption done in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one, it is as if he had saved mankind entirely

[Qur'an 5:32

Let there be no misunderstanding: Islam forbids the killing of innocent civilians, wherever and whoever they may be, in absolute terms.

Allah says in Qur'aan (from 1500 years ago):
"He is created from a water gushing forth. Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs" (85; verse 6,7)
this directly points to the embryological origin of testis from the genital ridge in the posterior part of the abdomen.
fortunately, non-muslims r the ones who discovered that scientific fact to prove the Qur'aan is the truth themselves!!!
would u always say: it is just by chance. or b honest & admit?
the prophet PBUH was not a doctor, & the fact is only revealed nowadays!

use, if they do not believe that Jesus was God son? and who is to really say they are wrong? they totally and completly believe they are right, and so do the Baptist and mormons etc. I dont understand how one group can say another group is going to Hell, we all believe in God and do our best to live good decent lives. I find it hard to believe that God would send everybody to Hell when we live in a world of confusion. Why is it so Hard to just accept others beliefs and believe we have a loving and forgiving God, who wants us all to come home? and will take us all home? Hell should be a place for Serial killers, and rapists.
