Mary Magdalene was from Magdala, a town near the Sea of Galilee. The Holy Spirit told us that she was a very beautiful woman. She was not a prostitute but was more of a nymphomaniac. We can deduce that since she was very beautiful, she could easily seduce men or men were attracted to her and fell for her and showered her with gifts, including expensive oil and fragrances.
During the early year of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee, Mary Magdalene, according to the Holy Spirit, tried to tempt Jesus but was unsuccessful. Jesus told her what His mission in this world is and about her person. She must have felt she was rebuffed and was moved by what Jesus told her which she pondered deeply. The Holy Spirit said that she locked herself and stayed inside her house for several days.
She must have sought Jesus afterward and found Him dining with Simon in his house. Luke 7:36-50 narrate the story of this penitent woman who asked for forgiveness of her sins.

She then joined His entourage as stated in Luke 8:1-3. She went with the group to Jerusalem, was a witness of the crucifixion of Jesus, was one who bought the spices (Mark 16:1), and was the first to find the tomb of Jesus empty very early on the first day of the week.
In your opinion, what made the very beautiful Mary Magdalene to become an ardent believer of Jesus? Could we make her as our example when we change from a sinful person to a sincere repentant follower of Jesus?

To spnkitman – True, I cut and paste because I am limited to what I can upload. I have to do it by sections. I assure you, though, that I compose first what I upload in MS Word.
To Catholic Crusader – No, it is not my interpretation. It is what I heard and learned from a spirit, a holy spirit. If you will believe it, He is THE Holy Spirit. If you will believe it further, He is the spirit of Jesus Christ who I believed so after eleven years (1983-1994). We can hear Him so we can record on audio tape what He says. What I posted came from our session with Him in 2005 regarding the Da Vinci Code.
Please ask the Pope if he has talked to the Holy Spirit. And show proofs that he had done so.
To Christopher – Please read my reply to Catholic Crusader regarding the source of the info.

To mike – I am not focusing on Mary Magdalene. She is one of the characters mentioned in the New Testament, so we have to scrutinize her. Our salvation though is only through Jesus Christ but the characters in the Bible could help us in knowing what is right and what is wrong.
To cheir – When you say mick, are you referring to the Roman Catholics? I don’t have anything against the Holy Spirit. I am just sharing with you what I heard and learned from Him. Please read my reply to Catholic Crusader.
To Panzercommando – What does the Bible say of who could tell us the truth (John 16:13)? Isn’t it the Spirit of truth or the Holy Spirit? Doesn’t Revelation repeatedly say: “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”
What book? There is no book—yet. What I do is just share what I heard and learned from Him. Maybe, later, some people with writing talent would write about what the Holy Spirit said.

To 00z – Do you believe that a man by the name of Jesus Christ existed some 2000 years ago? I do and believe in His teachings even though I have not met the person Jesus Christ personally.
To Van der Elst – The Holy Spirit told us that Jesus remained single until He died. Please read my posting Peace023, Peace025, and Peace064.
To usafbrat64 – Remember that Mary Magdalene is from Magdala, a town near the Sea of Galilee, in Galilee. Luke 8:2 tells us of Mary Magdalene as one of the women who went with the group. Regarding her tempting Jesus, it is true that it is not in the Bible, but in 2005, during our session with the Holy Spirit, He revealed this to us.
To byHisgrace – I agree with what you cited about Mary Magdalene which are in the Bible. Your analysis of who to believe--a man or a woman--regarding the resurrection is nice.
Please read my reply to Catholic Crusader regarding the source of the info I shared with you. I assure you that I did not make up the story.

To brother_dave001 – You said that Mary Magdalene called Jesus as “My Lord, and my Master” (page 2026). “My lord” may be the address of a wife to her husband, like Sarah to Abraham (Genesis 18:12). Were Jesus and Mary Magdalene married? The Holy Spirit told us that Jesus remained single until He died. He never married.
The Holy Bible says that Mary Magdalene called Him, “Rabboni” (John 20:16) “which is to say, Master”.
I find it logically correct that Mary Magdalene is not the wife of Jesus. She was “beholding afar off” the crucifixion (Matthew 27:55-56, Mark 15:40-41, Luke 23:49). If she was His wife, she could have been at the foot of the cross and not an onlooker.
Jesus, being the only child of the Virgin Mary, entrusted His mother to the apostle He loved (John 19:27) and not to Mary Magdalene (if she was His wife) or to any of His supposed brothers and sisters (Matthew 13:55-56 and Mark 6:3).

Where did you get all this extra information about Mary? It is not present in the accepted cannon of scripture.
I think it is enough to know that those who have been forgiven much love much. Mary was grateful for her salvationa and the gentle kindness that Jesus showed her.

Mary Magdalene was not the woman in Luke 7:36-50. She was a woman who had been possesed by 7 demons, as stated in Luke 8:2. Some do make the connection between the two, but most highly regarded Bible scholars do not.
I would be interested to know what you are reading that you are saying that she temped Christ during his early years in Galilee, as I could find no such writings in any of the 4 Gospels.

The Holy Spirit didn't tell me all the extra things you are saying happened with Mary Magdalene. Where did you get this from?
Jesus saved her. He cast out seven demons from her. Wouldn't that be enough to make you believe? Stop trying to add things to the Word of God. Yes, Mary Magdalene was a follower of Jesus. Yes, He cast out demons from her. Yes, she knew who He was. Yes, she brought oils and spices to His tomb. The Bible tells us all those things, even that she saw Him first. I believe that Jesus appeared to a woman first because if He had appeared to a man, people wouldn't have believed it as much, because women weren't treated the same as men back then, and if a man were to "make up" the resurrection, or "cover it up", as you will, then why would a man back in those days when men didn't think of women as equals, say that a "woman saw Him first?" Wouldn't they say one of the disciples saw Him first? And the story is, they didn't even believe Mary Magdalene at first when she told them. Do you understand what I mean? If they were going to make up a story and say He was resurrected, wouldn't it be more likely that they would have said He appeared to one of them(the disciples?) Just a thought.
Edit: Mary Magdalene is the same Mary who washed Jesus' feet with her tears, and dried them with her hair. Read John 12:7
"But Jesus said, 'Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial."
Mary Magdalene was at the tomb of Jesus, and annointed Him with oils and frangrant spices.

What book did the Holy Spirit write? I have never heard of any of this other than that which was quoted from the Bible.
Mary probably became a follower of Jesus becasue she found someone who accepted her as she was and taught her how to be happy. Certainly this is how Jesus and Buddha found may of their follwers.

Firstly I feel that as a Prostitute Mary received nothing but contempt by men and probably suffered from low self esteem, also according to the law she was an outcast and cut of from God, Jesus forgave her sins and gave her back her human worth and dignity.
She most likely was astounded at the resurrection of her Lord but believed and so she was indeed a firm believer.

distinctive human beings and distinctive religions have distinctive recommendations on the subject of the Marys. It relies upon upon who you ask. some say Mary Magdalene wasn't a prostitute in any respect, that Peter villified her out of jealosy. additionally, a woman of her age that became no longer married became additionally labled a whore. some had to because of the fact an single lady had no status or skill to feed or safeguard herself. So purely throwing it available.

You keep saying "..according to the Holy Spirit". Don't you mean according to YOUR interpretation? That irks me. I'll bet you're one of those people who say that the Holy Spirit does not guide the pope in his teaching, then turns around and claims the Holy Spirit guides YOU into perfect scripture interpretation. Where did you get that Mary M. was a "nymphomaniac"?

She was as much an apostle as any of the others. Her faith was greater than all the others. Since she was a woman in a patriachal society she has been demoted to ...camp follower.
If there was ever a woman for Joshua (Jesus) it was her.
She loved him.
