Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses *DO* believe Jesus to be God's Son. Witnesses do not insist on any particular translation of the bible, but prefer translations which do not remove the divine name ("Yahweh" or "Jehovah").
Most of mankind's dead are simply in a sleep-like state of non-existence, awaiting resurrection after Armageddon.
(John 11:11,14,23-25) [Jesus] said to them: “Lazarus our friend has gone to rest, but I am journeying there to awaken him from sleep.” ...Jesus said to them outspokenly: “Lazarus has died... Jesus said to [Martha]: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
The bible teaches that "hell" is *NOT* a fiery place of torment, but is actually the common grave of mankind. There is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection (once the grave is "empty"), death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
The bible plainly teaches that a "soul" can die. In both Hebrew and Greek, original language words translated "soul" simply mean "a life", with no implication regarding some immortal otherworldly entity. Each deceased life is in Jehovah God's remembrance (with the potential for future resurrection), but the dead do not exist anywhere but memories until and unless the life is resurrected.
(Ezekiel 18:4) The soul that is sinning - it itself will die.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Genesis 2:17) But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.”
(Genesis 17:14) And an uncircumcised male who will not get the flesh of his foreskin circumcised, even that soul must be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant.”
(Judges 16:30) And Samson proceeded to say: “Let my soul die with the Philistines.” Then he bent himself with power, and the house went falling upon the axis lords and upon all the people that were in it, so that the dead that he put to death in his own death came to be more than those he had put to death during his lifetime.
(Job 33:22) And his soul draws near to the pit, And his life to those inflicting death.
(Psalm 78:50) He did not hold back their soul from death itself; And their life he handed over even to the pestilence.
(Isaiah 53:12) he poured out his soul to the very death
(Acts 3:23) Indeed, any soul that does not listen to that Prophet will be completely destroyed from among the people.’
(Revelation 16:3) And the second one poured out his bowl into the sea. And it became blood as of a dead man, and every living soul died, yes, the things in the sea.
For the vast majority of mankind, their eternal hope is unending peaceful productive life in perfect human bodies in a restored paradise earth.
(Psalm 37:10,11,29) And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. ...The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.
Bible students may recall this is exactly the life that Adam and Eve enjoyed before they introduced sinful imperfection and the issue of universal sovereignty. It is Christ Jesus who settles the issue and redeems mankind for all time.
(Genesis 2:15-17) Jehovah God proceeded to take the man and settle him in the garden of Eden to cultivate it and to take care of it. 16 And Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. 17 But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.” [note that abstaining from that one fruit would mean the man would never die]
(Romans 5:12,14) Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men ...death ruled as king from Adam
(1 Corinthians 15:22) For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive

We use the New World Translation of the Bible or any one you wish to use, I personally have the King James Version and the The Revised Versions as well as my New World Translation, I use them all. and it is not true that we do not believe that Jesus is God's son, we certainly do believe he is, that is what Jesus himself said in(John10:36)"What about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'"?And in (Matthew3:17) at Jesus baptizm or dedication to God, God also tells us who Jesus is.17And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."What we do not believe is the trinity because it is not a Bible teaching but mens.
But you are right we do have a Loving God, He does not torture anyone for eternity He may punish his children, but he would never torture them! If any repent(turn away from sin) and ask forgiveness sincerely, he forgives them. A hell of torture is just a lie promoted by the devil. in an effort to make God seem cruel and uncaring, so that people will turn away from God!

Hello Cindy,
You asked some very good Q's here.
And from what I already read,
u've already received some
very good Scriptual answers.
1) We use all Bibles.
Most of us prefer the
New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures,
since Jehovah's divine name has been
returned to its rightful place.
Also, this 1 is written in modern English,
and much easier to understand.
But, remember all Bibles have the same message,
not matter how many times or how many
different ppl do the translating.
We do believe Jesus to be the Son of God
as the Bible says so many, many times...
~~Matthew 17:3
"a voice was heard from the heavens,
"This is my Son the beloved, listen to him."
No man can, or has the right to say another is wrong,
Only God can do so, or Jesus.
In searching out the truth of all matters in the Bible,
God's recorded word to us,
we are told / shown that there is but 1 way to worship God
that is acceptable to Him.
And He does not hold back from telling us,
all that is beneficial for us~~mankind.
We do not believe in a fiery hell,
as punishment and or torture for eternity.
As this is Not taught in the Bible.
The Bible teaches that when we die,
we are concious of nothing at all~~ Ecc 9:5,10.
That we are awaiting the Resurrection.~ John 5:28,29;
1 Thess 4:13,14.
Those that r so mean as to say such a thing,
aren't following Jesus' example of love, mercy, or pity.
Thank you so much for asking.

We use almost all Bibles. The message is the same. For the most part we use the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. Some will say it's made up, fictious, supports our own doctrine, yada, yada, yada none of that is true. It was translated Directly from the Hebrew Greek and Aramaic original languages.

We normally use the New World Translation due to it being in modern English and it has put Jehovah's name back in where it was taken out and replaced with God or Lord. However, we use all bibles as references.
Many will say that our bible is biased to our beliefs. This is not true at all, since the New World Translation was not released until 1961, so all our beliefs and doctrines were based on other earlier translations of the bible.
By the way, we do not believe in a burning hell and would never tell someone that they are going to hell. We believe that Hell (English) or Sheol (Hebrew), Hades (Greek) is the common grave of mankind.
We do believe that there are truths in the bible and we are each responsible to search out that truth. As John 17:3 states: " this means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you the only true God and the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ."

Hi.
To address your multi-faceted question in order:
Jehovah's Witnesses use the New World Translation. As for it's accuracy, see more at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JWquestions_and_answers_archives/message/198
Jehovah's Witnesses DO believe that Jesus was God's Son. The Jehovah's Witnesses' Official Website has more about this:
http://www.watchtower.org/e/20050915/article_02.htm
Putting aside the subject of WHICH religion is right, how is it possible for ALL faiths to be right? The Bible says that since there is only one God, logically then, there is only one right way to serve Him:
"One Lord, ONE FAITH, one baptism; one God and Father of all [persons], who is over all and through all and in all." Eph. 4:5,6
Jehovah's Witnesses do not proclaim that other groups are going to a firey "Hell". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses understand that the Bible does not teach of a firey place of torment for the wicked or anyone. The dead are simply not conscious of anything at all. (Eccl. 9:5)
The Official Jehovah's Witnesses' Website has more about this:

The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures.
Compiled mainly from the works of Westcott and Hort, it's the most accurate translation there is.
It's been checked against numerous sources. When it was revised in 1984, it was checked against the Nestles Greek testament, and found accurate.
By the way, Jehovah's Witnesses do believe Jesus is the Son of God. The don't worship him though. The Bible commands only Jehovah is to be worshiped

JW's use the new world translation but if you are discussing scripture they will show you in any bible you like to use.
They believe Jesus is gods son not a part of a trinity.
They do not believe in Hell as most religions teach .Hell is a common name for the grave.
All religions claim to be the truth but Matthew 7:12&13 says few are the ones finding the path so we owe it to ourselfs to seek out the truth.
Jesus said by there fruits you will know them. This refers to true followers .
Any questions you have can be fully explained with the bible for you if you wish to contact your local JW's.

Jehovah's Witnesses DO BELIEVE in Jesus, and that, as the Bible says, he is God's son.
Jehovah's Witnesses enjoy using several Bible translations for comparision and greater understanding. However one reason they prefer to use the New World Translation is because it accurately restores God's name - Jehovah. It also is easier to read in modern English.
The name Jehovah (or Yahweh, as the Roman Catholic Jerusalem Bible and some scholars prefer) appears almost 7,000 times in the original Hebrew Scriptures. Most Bibles do not show it as such but substitute “God” or “Lord” for it. However, even in these Bibles, a person can usually tell where the original Hebrew text uses Jehovah because in those places the substituted words are written in large and small capitals, thus: GOD, LORD. Several modern translations do use either the name Jehovah or the name Yahweh. Hence, the New World Translation reads at Isaiah 42:8, “I am Jehovah. That is my name.”
If you would like further information please feel free to get in touch with Jehovah's Witnesses at the local Kingdom Hall. Or visit

Well I use the New World Translation, the King James Version, the American Standard Version among others.
You are mistaken about Jehovah's Witnesses not believing that Jesus is Gog's son. We do not believe Jesus is God the Son.
