(I sure hope this question doesn't offend anyone; so far I have asked it 3 times in the last two years and I received a "violation notice" all 3 times. But, I am feeling lucky tonight.) --smiles

God sees everything we do. He's everywhere in His fullness at every single moment in time. He knows everything before it ever happens. He is timeless and unchanging. He has a master plan in which we all play a specific and special role.

Question #1: Do you believe we are determined or free? Or possibly a mix of the two? Please explain why you think that way.

Question #2: Romans 9 says that God has already chosen who will be condemned to Hell and who will be given eternal life with Him in Heaven. Do you think that this means in any way that we should not strive to help others because their fate is already sealed so to speak? What other implications does this passage have?

Thank you so much!

Really think about this. Do not reply with 'saving souls'. if there's only one god, then not every religion is 'saving souls'. Also, don't give me "Well churches give money to charities, like hurrican Katrina.." Wal-mart, the bakery down the street, and ost highschools give money to charities, probably more money. MOST organizations give money to things like hurrican Katrina relief efforts, so don't throw that one at me. What has religion actually DONE (positively) for mankind? What good has come from it? Because i can think of a whole lot of bad, and I'm hoping maybe the good outweighs it.

The REAL Jesus
There is "another Jesus" that is not the REAL Jesus of
the Bible (2 Cor. 11:4). Salvation can only take place
only through faith in the REAL Jesus. Faith in
"another Jesus" cannot save anyone. So how can you
tell if you have the REAL Jesus?
The Jesus of the Bible...
-- is prayed to - Acts 7:55-60; Psalm 116:4
and Zech. 13:9 with 1 Cor. 1:1-2
-- is worshiped - Matt. 2:2,11; 14:33; 28:9;
John 9:35-38; Heb. 1:6
-- is called God - John 20:28; Heb. 1:8; Isa.
9:6
-- is the ONLY way to God - John 14:6; Acts
4:12
-- did not come to bring peace, but a
sword - Matt. 10:34
-- tells us to fear God - Matt. 10:28
-- tells us that the world will hate us - John
15:18-19, 17:14
-- tells us Christians can expect to suffer -
Matt. 5:45; John 16:33; Heb. 11:35-38; 1 Pet.
4:12; 1 John 3:13
-- commands us share the gospel - Matt.
28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8

In Reno, Nevada a shop keeper flew a Mexican flag above an American flag. A U.S. Army vet cut it down. Some bleeding hearts think the vet was wrong. I say GOOD FOR YOU SOLDIER! What would happen if someone flew an AMERICAN flag over a Mexican flag ...IN MEXICO?

I started my sojourn through R&S and some other places on the internet where I could find atheists. I really believed that logic, reasoning and a calm attitude of love would eventually make them see the errors of their ways and beliefs. But, while it may have worked on a few (who became agnostics and even theists as a result), I have found that the majority were much more dogmatic and hostile than I expected. Even in the more mature forums where you could find atheists with good brains, I saw traits of stubborness and the kind of immaturity you would only expect to see from the ones on Yahoo Answers. I sometimes feel like giving up but the few whose hearts and minds have changed have given me hope. But I'd like to ask the opinion of other Christians if you think it is worthwhile or if the best thing is to just pray for them and hope that they see the truth someday. Thank you.

Why are there so many "atheists" in a category called "religion and spirituality"?

Is "Atheism" a religion?

Is it "spiritual"?

Hmmmmmm...

I'm just curious to know? Because if a racist white brother or sister called me a N*****, I would call them one right back:)
Has anyone ever turned the tables on you like that before?
That would be so neat what do you think?
How would you respond or react? :)

Ever since I started working full time, I've learnt one thing in the real world - that no one does their job properly. Everyone will slack off if they can, not when they should and try to do minimal with maximum income.

Phone calls and emails requesting things that should have been delivered long ago remain unanswered and ignored. A kind word that a team or a member should be putting in more effort when its required is intepreted as a criticism and "too harsh." Men and women alike give birth to their children and forget that as parents, they have responsibilities.

It wasn't like this when my grandmother was growing up. You worked for your fill, or starved. Now, with the dole, government support it seems like the concept of "hard work" is only a thing of the past.

Your thoughts?

Why can't we chide about beliefs we find irrational? I don't demand that atheists not laugh at my beliefs. I don't want to be called names, and I don't call others names, but surely chiding each other about our beliefs can be a good thing if we keep it in the proper context?
I do not believe in 'political correctness' and I don't believe in respecting any and all religious beliefs. Showing respect to another human being is not the same as respecting their beliefs.

"I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good...Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a Biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism."
Randall Terry, Founder of Operation Rescue
Reported in The News-Sentinel, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 8-16-93

George Grant, was Executive Director of Coral Ridge Ministries for many years and is a dominionist author and educator. He wrote in The Changing of the Guard, Biblical Principles for Political Action:

Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ -- to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness.

But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice.

It is dominion we are after. Not just influence.

It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time.

It is dominion we are after.

World conquest. That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less... Thus, Christian politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land -- of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Christ. (pp. 50-51)

Pat Robertson tells us who makes up that "well-organized minority." It includes only Christians who share his point of view. As he said on his television program, the 700 Club: "You say you're supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists, and this and that and the other thing. Nonsense! I don't have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist." (Pat Robertson, the Most Dangerous Man in America?, 149, Rob Boston),
