It strengthened my faith in God and caused me to seriously question the religion I was raised in as a child.

I was raised in an extremely liberal Lutheran Church.

I read the Bible from cover to cover the first time while I was in the Navy, on board a destroyer cruising up and down the east coast of the far east.

From the Kamchatka Peninsula to Singapore.

With many days spent off the coast of North Korea and South Vietnam and Cambodia.

The year was 1971.

I've read the Bible through so many times, I lost count. If the reader has an honest and good heart, the reading of the Bible is like drinking living water, and eating food for the soul. The Bible is the Word of God, truly the greatest treasure on the earth. To the unbelieving, the Bible is just some religious book. Having ears, they cannot hear; having eyes, they cannot see.

The bible comes from the Latin word for Library. There are a number of scrolls.

I never recommend reading the bible for cover to cover because it is a collection of books, not sequential. It is a collection of religious books for the believer. It is not a conversion manual.

Fear is not something that is biblical. Faith/believing comes from God.

Answer: Yes I have read every single word in the bible (English, Hebrew, and Greek). I live by God's grace who straightens me.

Because of the scripture, my faith is stronger than ever. I find with study that all the so-called contradictions in the Bible are in my mind. I think it has said one thing and I then see that it is saying another. The more I study, the more I see new truths that I did not see before.

Study of the scripture strengthens and draws me closer to my God and Father as well as my Brother, Jesus the Christ.

Several times. It has definitely strengthened my faith. In fact, without it I doubt I would still have my faith. However, I admit a lot of the Old Testament has gone in one ear and out the other (like Chronicles).

I didn't get to finish Kings etc: so there's a few I didn't read all the way through, have been in those books read parts, but for the most part read through the Bible, all of the New testament;
as I read, God would make some scriptures real to me and He taught me faith

Best book ever written...and its still a BEST SELLER!

When you know where to look for the specific instructions to US today as the church which is His Body , its a fascinating study and not scary at all. What is scary is when well meaning professing Christians dont know what program God is currently operating under TODAY, and they try to put you back under the law of Moses.

Find the mail in the Bible that is TO and ABOUT you specifically...thats found in Pauls epistles by the way...Very edifying, awesome , and faith strengthening.

Interesting fact:

The ONLY person who tells us that by his gospel we are established in the faith IS PAUL...and the gospel given to him by the RISEN Christ has to do with GRACE and NOT law.

Yes, I have read it from cover to cover twice.

As I have matured I no longer view it as literal as much as many do. Because of that I see a great deal of good history and mans view of God requirements of him. Further I see a God how did not give up on his original plan to have a man as his sons.

There's nothing like actually reading the whole bible to make an atheist of a person!

I read all but the genealogies; those were just way too tedious. I thought the book was horrifyingly violent, absurd, and prejudiced. So you could say it scared me away.
