I believe that our Heavenly Father is married. It would be pretty strange to have a Father and no Mother. So, no, none of the authors of the Bible negate the possibility because that would have been incorrect, and the Bible is inspired.
Perhaps the Bible doesn't talk about a Heavenly Mother out of loving respect and consideration for her. It offends me enough to have the name of God the Father used in vain. I shudder to think what blasphemy and disrespect there would be as a consequence to a mention of a wife to God.
There is more to gender than sex. There is nothing inherently evil in gender and in sex. It is a beautiful thing when not abused or corrupted by sin. God has in Him the perfection of all virtues, and does not lack any that we might have.

Reply to Kallan: To what texts do you refer, and where is the evidence of such acts?
Yes God will have a wife, aka Israel.
Reply to Orpheus: No the Hebrews did not rip off text from Ugaritic polytheism. Moses's monotheistic beliefs are completely opposite your conclusion so unless you can provide some evidence for some large scale transfer of information you essentially have nothing but speculation. And even if you admit an occurence of "El" prior to Moses, you are still really just providing evidence of a inherited tradition of God's name from it's reference in the Garden of Eden. In addition, the multitude of gods mentioned in the Ugaritic texts and their corresponding mention in the Bible as false gods(Baal, Asherah) only support the Bible as a real historical document.

Eee, I hope you don't get violated! ;-)
There was DEFINITELY an agenda on behalf of some of the Biblical authors (or redactors) to make sure that God (El) didn't have a celestial wife. When the Israelites adopted the Canaanite representation of God as "El", the bearded Sky-Father who looks down from his perch in the heavens, they did so because of the associations it would have in the minds of the people. But then they had to modify that - they couldn't have their God seen as engaging in any kind of corporeal activity, especially sexual. So you'll see vehement anti-Asherah rhetoric peppering the books of the Nevi'im in particular, especially Judges and Kings. In Canaanite mythology, on the other hand, El, Asherah and Yahweh (or alternately Ba'al) formed a sort of celestial family.

Kallan is right. Archeology shows he did indeed have a consort, Asherah. Her groves are written about in the Bible, but it's written in such a way to make you think that it is some outside "God" that has the groves. Judaism wasn't always Monotheist.
So far no violation notice... maybe the fundies are sleeping? =)

I have no biblical basis for this, just a gut feeling but here goes anyway...Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Holy Ghost...aka Comforter
Who did you run to for comfort as a child?
edit: just realized that I never did answer your question...No.

It's funny you mention that. Archaeology has discovered that ancient hebrews actually worshipped both a god and a goddess... El and Asherah.. they later (for reasons unknown to date) began erasing Asherah from their texts in favor of El alone.

THere is no one with gender in the heavens,
because they are not humans.
Only humans can have sex and reproduce but not in the heavens.
God saids it in Genesis. He actually tells humans to reproduce not angels.
So only humans have gender.
