I'm just curious to know? Because if a racist white brother or sister called me a N*****, I would call them one right back:)
Has anyone ever turned the tables on you like that before?
That would be so neat what do you think?
How would you respond or react? :)

how would that bother someone who is white? that's irrelavant.........problem you have to ask yourself is why do most african americans get offended by that word yet turn right around and call their "friends" that? i think some only pull out the race card when it "suits them".....good luck to you

I think this is a weird question. But consider this, the "N-word" is a term that is not specifically for black people.. so technically this question is racist. And to be the bigger person and the less racist would be to just turn it into a joke and say shut up and laugh.

I got black friends that say that to me and I have been know to say it to them , but it's kind of a freind thing. I guess you are seeing if someone would get mad. The old saying "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me", says it all. If someone is trying to demean someone that's not right on the other hand you have to consider the source and don't let pride or whatever upset you.

People say a ton of things, but it's much better to say something nice and nothing at all. Wars have been started over words and if someone is nutty I just sidestep them.

I don't see how it would be neat. It's not cool to call anyone degrading names like that.

I wouldn't be offended if I was called a deragatory name that's typically meant for African-Americans. That's like calling an African-American a cracker or honkey. Doubt they'd really care.

If it were to happen, I would respond by asking them if they like being called that. If an African-American gets offended when a white person calls them a n*****, would it make sense for them to call someone else that? Show that you want respect by giving it.

And the comment about the Irish...that's just retarded.

It happens all the time,
whites are called:
crackers, gringos, honky, white trash, etc.
By the way,
you do not have to be black
to be called a "N-i-Double G- er."
The term means, dirty low down person,
and that can refer to any race,
although in the early South;
it was aimed directly at the Negroes.
When I was small,
I thought the word meant,
that these were colored folks
who were from Nigeria.

I think it's a natural human reaction to be at least somewhat bothered at times when someone says something with insulting intentions. On that note, I find myself upset sometimes when this happens (regardless of exactly what's said). However, I'm not the least bit bothered when the intentions aren't to have a negative impact.

If I was called like that I would feel enchanted just because it is being called by a black. Why should I be bothered about it at all? it do not touch me at all ! By keeping quiet he/she will never again call me the same as he will know that I am fool-proof and that my skin is more thicker than his !

Huh? I suppose I would be surprised. I might add, though, that while some blacks have called other whites "Honkies" and some of the Mexicans I worked with called other whites "Gringoes", neither black or Mexican called me those names.
So, I suppose it depends upon how the different people treat each other.
Good point!

that word doesnt effect white people. i guess they hear so much. i guess the only group who would react is any non black person calls a black person that. i'm white and i personally hate the word but it wouldn't piss me off if a black person called me that or any other word for that matter. same with a white person.

Overall it wouldn't bother me. It's actually happened to me but between friends.

Depends on the context though. If it was a stranger and said it in a tone that was aggressive or whatever I'd ask him to lay off or just chill just because of his attitude but not because he said/called me N*****. That word doesn't really affect me and I don't use it.

If it was like my friend saying it to me I'd just laugh or smile and just come up with a name for him like cracker or something... Not really a big deal to me.

id call that person a cracker, just for kicks.
i believe that the reason they get offended by white people calling a black person a n***** is because it was always used as a derogatory term. i was in the u.s. one day (im from canada) and a black guy asked me if we had many n****** up in canada, and i replied 'yeah, but there all white' he killed him self laughing. the kinda guy that woulda shot me if i said the wrong thing
