It just amazes me what people think they can do here in this country. I've been all around this world in many many different countries and we, as soldiers, never disrespected another country in that way. Even some red-boned Americans are disrespectful sometimes. Just this summer, I was at a stock-car race in Lebanon Mo. We all go to an area where we can tail gate and drink beer and bar-b-q while watching the race. Well, this big ol'country boy was sitting in his lawn chair while they were playing the National Anthem. I told him he had better get his @ss up and show some respect or neither of us would probably see the race. Thankfully he did with no trouble. I was very proud of American's after 9-11 and the pride that we demonstrated by displaying our flag and that good ol' American pride. When you enter my property, you have no doubt that I'm a proud American with my display of flags. I'm glad this guy was a Vet, but don't forget, you don't have to be a Vet to correct a wrong. We American's need to get past all this partison BS and reclaim our country because I fear the big battles are yet to come. And you can bet your @ss that I'm training my kids accordingly.

That's just not right! If the shop keeper lives here, then he needs to learn some respect for this country!
I applaud the soldier! Good for him as he did what someone should have already done...like the law! Oh yeah, I forgot...the laws are becoming more immigrant friendly than they are for native born Americans who love this country!
If he loves that flag so much, go to the place in which it came.
I know I sound harsh but, I live in Texas and the immigration problem is draining our hospitals! It is out of hand and I do not see anything changing soon!
God Bless that soldier and this country too!

Good for the Vet! No flag should EVER be flown above the American flag. I know the flag code and I fly the American flag and the Marine flag in front of my home every day ... weather permitting. Both flags also are retired at dusk and are replaced when worn.

Regardless of the illegality, it is common international flag etiquette that the flag of the country you are actually in takes the top position. If you are in Mexico it is OK and proper to fly the US flag under the Mexican flag, or in Canada to fly the US flag under the Canadian flag. It is discourteous and insulting no matter what country you are in.

I live one block from a mosque. Last month they had a ceremony celebrating 50 years of being in existence. They installed 3 flag poles. One is a state flag, one is the flag of their association, and the largest, tallest flag in the center is a US flag. That, I was very glad to see. Good for that soldier!

Hell no the vet was not wrong!
I'm trying not to get mad about this invasion BUT when
they absolutely will not speak
English and one made the
statement,"We will have YOU
speaking Mexican." And they
won't stand up for the national
anthem and they revere the
Mexican flag above the
American. They are pushing
things to the limit.
I'm am certainly afraid we
are about to have another
Mexican/American war
pretty soon.

It's quite possible that the shop keeper didn't know it was illegal. I don't know the whole story, but if the vet tore it down without talking to the guy first, then the vet was overreacting. I can understand his passion, but we need to put people first, not a system of government. The government is supposed to exist to serve the people, right? Doesn't that include people who do things out of ignorance? I sure hope so.

I had a fellow in Orange County cited by the police for flying the Confederate Flag above the U.S. Flag on the flagpost at his home, in violation of the Veterans and Military Code of California law. He decided to fight it in court, so I had to appear as a witness. His attorney tried to imply in his questioning of me that my loyalties might be suspect. The judge educated the attorney about my being a commissioned officer of the U.S. Navy. The defendant got a fine of $1,000 and his lawyer was also given a monetary sanction by the judge for being stupid.

let me digress for a moment...when I was a kid and for every holiday my dad would fly this huge flagpole type flag (that was as tall as a large tree) in our front yard, so I believe strongly in old glory and in flying it, and I have respect for the American flag.
I was dismayed to see people wearing the American flag on pieces of clothing, to see our flag being burnt (and I think they allowed it as free speech), to see an American military person fly it upside down in Iraq when the statue came down (he didn't know any better), and when a wife here put it in front of her condo here in FL and the condominimum association made her take it down because of their association rules (and the association won), and a military man remove a small flag from someone who attached it to their apartment door (and he was in the wrong for removing it, according to the law)...... I understand why you're bringing this situation to our attention.
It's not only the business owner (whether he was mexican or not) who doesn't know anything about the flag, it's all the people here, not only do we need a brush-up course, but we need to respect our flag as we once did. Every time we try to show respect for our country or what represents our country we have the ACLU down on us or some californian athiest or some law preventing us from showing our pride and respect in America. Many of our families came from Europe and other countries years ago and took pride in this country, had the work ethic, respect, faith in God, were grateful what America has done for our families. Something has happened over the years and for the new people who have come to this country we need to instill in them that same respect for America. Our mother has been good to us.

I accept as true with you that the ought to alter the innovations, i.e., to flee from reality, is a concern-unfastened human prefer. i think of it must be somewhat decrease on the record, even with the undeniable fact that, via fact human beings prefer love and/or companionship earlier they like different issues. I additionally agree that the taxation subject, relatively whilst it is composed of marijuana, is important. If each and every person ought to easily strengthen it of their decrease back backyard, the government does not get its decrease like it does with tobacco and alcohol. The pharmaceutical industry has adequate drugs to place the finished u . s . into l. a.-l. a. land and then some, yet they federally regulated, are worthwhile, and pay taxes. Heroin and cocaine are extra complicated via fact of their addictive homes and potential deadly nature. If each and every physique ought to legally purchase those drugs, affordably, there may be a great spike (no pun meant) in overdoses, so in this regard i've got faith the government, or a minimum of your straightforward voter, is worried with regards to the well-being outcomes and not plenty with regards to the lost taxes.
