While I feel that I don't always have the funds to provide the Lord with 10% of my income, I will give very generously to Goodwill. I have donated a perfectly good carseat, unused baby cloths, a buisness suit worth several hundred, lightly used clothing from high end department stores, etc . (These items were given to me as gifts, and I either had no need for them because they were surplus or I had "grown" out of them).

Am I serving the Lord with my materialistic donations that I joyfully give to Goodwill? Do my donations compare at all to giving $ to my church?

I work for a dr. and we have this patient who will randomly call OVER AND OVER asking questions about contact lenses. We will give her an answer and she'll call again with almost the same question. Then she'll come to the office, ask the SAME questions, not pay anything and leave. Then call back. She does this every few months. After she places her order (same order every time) she'll call to confirm. Then she'll call the same day to re-confirm. How do we tell her to stop this madness?????

My 38 year old daughter, a very cheerful, beautiful and helpful young lady passed away on september 6, 2007 of multifple brain malignancies. Her sister passed away 35 years ago at 3.5 years old. I have since became an Agnostic.

Now im a non-violent person, im a very very happy person i don't believe in murder, i am pro-choice and and pro-euthanasia. Absolutely HATE violence. But, Christians i don't understand why your against abortion, i mean there going to heaven right? Same with murder, why are you against murder? they are going to be judged right?


People like to say since your atheist why don't you go around killing people. You don't have anyone to face. I don't kill because i don't have a right to do so. Its not fair to the other person. So it made me think of this.

Has any of you been on this forum for a full twenty-four hours?
The longest I think I've been on here was about ten hours or so.
But, I could see someone spending twenty-four hours on here.
Which goes along with my next question.
Do you think we should have a day when all the R&S regulars stay on for a full twenty-four hours? It would be kind of like the Jerry Lewis telethons. What do you think of that idea?

I am thinking of converting, I need to have answers to the following questions:
1. Why do you say RAmen?? Why is it in capitals?

I remember hearing a specific story from my grandma/mom. The story goes that there was a handsome young boy who was given everything he ever wanted and thought highly of himself. One day this boy threw a big party for his birthday and invited everyone. He was talking to his friends and told them that the next girl that he saw that was up to his standards on beauty he would ask to dance. And in walks a beautiful girl that he "fell deeply in love with" because of her beauty. They danced the whole night and when it was time for her to go home,he began to walk with her but suddenly the girl changed shape into the devil and a hole appeared that the boy felll into. His parents went looking for him and found him with his hands outside of the hole trying to dig himself out.They began to dig too they discovered the more they tried the more he would fall in. I'm not 100% sure if its true or not but my gma swears it is. Anyone hear any versions like this before or is it just a hispanic folklore?
