That matters concerning the existence of god(s), religion, and faith are nothing more than opinion with no inherent factual merit?

Ask a believer to give evidence for any of these points and you will get nothing more than arguments contingent upon elusive truth values, tales of personal experience, or anecdotal evidence. None of which can be tested or confirmed.

Since none of these count for anything in objectively providing solid, testable evidence on these matters, it's safe to conclude that we are dealing with nothing more than personal opinion.

If you disagree please provide your reasons.

...And if it god thinks it critical that everyone know his word, then god would have made it's meaning obvious to everyone who reads it. But since it's meaning is not obvious, and subject to individual interpretation, that makes it obvious that it is not from god.

Am I right or am I right?

let me explain. If straight people think we chose our sexuality, that means they chose theirs right? If that's the case then wouldn't that mean they chose to suppress their gay feelings in order to be "regular"?

The U.S. Senate has just passed the Matthew Shepard Act!

HRC supporters sent 350,000 emails, made 30,000 calls to Congress, and wrote over 5,000 letters to local papers. The commitment was inspiring. And even Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) acknowledged the work of the Human Rights Campaign during debate on the Senate floor.

Does anyone else like where this is going? Whats your opinions on it?

To all on each side. As a Christian there is nothing you can say or do that will convince me that evolution is the way life occurred on this planet. I just see to many holes, two many gaps, to many false answers like the (peppered moth). I do not believe it.

As an evolutionist, you do not either believe that life came from a creator, or if you do give any credit to intelligent design, it is limited at best. You see no proof, you do not accept the bible as truth, you trust in what science tells you to believe, and I can not convince you other wise.

Do we both agree so far?

Ok, what is wrong with this. There are issues that are not taught in school. Privet issues, Issues like divorce, religion, (the details of sex) issues that the schools leave up to the parent to teach, explain and discuss with their children.

Why not approach “where does life come from” in the same manner. You can teach biology, health, and science. You can teach how cells divide and reproduce. You can teach how bacteria and virus mutate. Why not leave the one point to the family?

Is that so unreasonable?

How strong is your conviction in your beliefs regarding the existence or non-existence of God (or gods)?

What religion do you belong to (including non-adherents such as agnostics, atheists, etc)?

Matthew 24:34 (NKJV) "Assuredly, I say to "YOU", this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.

In this verse, Jesus is speaking directly to his disciples. Read carefully, He says "Assuredly, I say to YOU". He doesn't say, "Assuredly, I say to the people of the 21st century". Jesus gives no indication that He is speaking to any group of people in the future. Therefore, his disciples saw the spiritual second coming after 70ad when the church was established as foretold.

The whole Book of Revelation is written by John to the "Seven Churches of Asia", which no longer exist, but did at the time John wrote it.

Why do kooky evangelical Christians think that these verses are addressing us in the 21st century? They clearly are not.

I am going to make a christian show. Father Knows Best, has already been used. I was thinking (Jesus and His Dog Spirit.) or (Burn In Hell Everyone Who Does Not Believe in Me), of course the last one is kind of long.
I am not even sure how the story line will run. I want to modernize the story abit. You know have Jesus in a mental ward or maybe a homeless bumb. But he will use his powers every week to heal someone and leave them with a riddle. Or something like that.
So anyway help me name my show. Any suggestions?

Here is a quote from a believer.. "Its not important for us to know why, or it would be in the bible." Does it strike you that the foundation of dissent between atheists, agnostics and other non-believers and those who believe could lie in the fact that one group seeks to know the why of everything and the other group disregards such a pursuit of knowledge? How can the question "Why?" ever be irrelevant, it should be the driving force in our progress as a society, as a culture and as a species. If we do not strive to uncover the "why" of things how can we ever move forward? What purpose is there in life besides curiosity and learning? I know myself I can never agree to something no matter what it is until I know and fully understand the Why of it. Perhaps religion supresses this innate curiosity of our species and promotes stagnation as far as progress is concerned... what do you think?
