Do you see it otherwise? I feel like there's less racial tension here and in NY than any other areas of the USA.

Anybody else find it really interesting?

During the night as I was sleeping, I heard a voice so clear to my ear. It was the sound of a young girl and she whipsered "wake up". It was very clear and very distinct, that I woke up startled and alarmed. Could it just be my imagination or does this mean something more. There isn't a young girl that lives in my house, and I was alone in silence when I woke up.

Nothing like this ever happened to me and I used to think people were crazy when they would say things like this. I have been thinking about it all day.

Im not sure how i ended up in this category, but when i answered a question that praised God, I got so many thumbs down... I cant say i got offended but it just opened my eyes a little bit. I hope nothing for the best in everyones lives and i just cant make myself judge the next person for what they believe in even though we have different views.

♥♥ But i am curious about everyone elses views......
2nd question: Is the back and forth verbal war between religions (or lack thereof) entertainment to you, or is religion a sensitive subject?

Any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated. thx

Interesting article I ran across today:

http://www.thesmartset.com/article/article09190701.aspx

Excerpt:

"In the 1400s, the skyrocketing cost of dowries meant that many of the city’s noblest families were obliged to place their teenage daughters, regardless of their wishes, in convents. Few of these developed a spiritual calling. It was openly accepted that the top convents were a “safety valve” for Venice’s surplus of well-born single women, who could go on to enjoy a level of sexual freedom unique for the time.

"The nunneries were run like luxury boutique hotels. Novices were given duplicate keys so they could come and go as they pleased from their palatial apartments, which were filled with artwork and overlooked the Grand Canal. Wearing the most fashionable, low-cut dresses, they would entertain male visitors with wine-fuelled banquets, then invite their beaux to spend the night in their rooms."

You know, whatever pain you feel there's a pill to make it go away? Diagnose and treat. Every pain has a diagnosis. Every diagnosis has a well defined treatment.
You have yackety-yak disorder. And the way to beat yackety-yack disorder is to take some blinkety-blink pills.

... pray for us (me and my family)...

I've been going through some tough times and I need help and only God can help me. Thank you.

Anyways, I am curios to know what kind of holidays we shouldn't celebrate. I'm a "new" Christian and am confused about Easter, Christmas, Sunday worship, birthdays and funerals.

I've heard so many different things and don't know what to believe.
We are not supposed to glorify or celebrate each other (birthdays/funerals).
And I have heard Christmas can't be the "right" birthday (Jesus's) because the time table described in the Bible differs (the sheep were sent to the field in the wintertime?) with ours.

Maybe some friends were joking, but in some ways, I kind of agree with them in some areas in which I have been referred to as "square". I don't drink (More on this later), I don't smoke (Which they don't do, and it's a good thing), or get high (Which they went through a phase of doing, but not anymore). But what I am wondering is how could no consumption of alcohol or at least opposing to the idea of drinking alcohol make one square. Also, I don't like to follow too much of today's new trends, whether it's in fashion, music, etc. Is it really to wrong to stick to one's own instincts and not conform to anything? I choose not to drink for my own personal reasons. I never had a drink, and still don't intend to. I don't believe in this stupid social rule in which drinking helps one loosen up and all this other nonsense. Of course, in the end, some do respect my choice. I really have no intention to drink or follow things of now. Well, I guess I'm out of touch with society then.
