One should never partner with someone who will resent you for success.

And letting yourself be guilt tripped by losers is the shortcut to failure.

Hell yes, you should breakup. This is bad mojo.

Money and children always seem to be potential sore spots for relationships and they say you should always discuss your views on BOTH before committing.

In this case it sounds like your bf is allowing society's definition of "success" get the better of him. Are you happy? Is he happy? Then there's no problem. But if he's going to bear a grudge because you make more money that he does, he can either: 1) advance his education so he can land a better job and contribute more money to the union or 2) accept the fact that you make more and be happy for you as well as content for having landed a bf who is gainfully employed.

If you're willing, you might try couples therapy. It may be that this issue is about more than just money. It may have to do with insecurities about financial solvency, issues of control and obligation or jealously regarding the inequity of perceived differences between job effort and due compensation (how hard does someone work and are they getting paid for what they do/what they're worth?)

If he can't or won't change his attitude, yes, I think you may be better off finding someone more suited for you financially.

he is just insecure cause with all that you have make him feel beside hisself. I believe it scares him because he may think that your successful and it could attract other guys to you.

if your bf makes you feel bad for making more money than you need to dump him. no guy should ever make you feel bad about anything. ever.
