When/if you donate money to charities, do you check to see if said organization is secular or not?

Personally, I do. I really don't want my donation being spent on sandwiches that are gonna be piled on a table in a church in Africa that the starving kids won't be able to have unless they sit through a 4-hour sermon.

I know this doesn't happen in all non-secular situations, but I have heard from former missionaries about things like this happening, so if there's any chance of this kind of thing going on, I sure as hell don't want my dosh being a part of it.

if I decide to meet you half way and say that god does exist but I do not want to worship him/her/it, you still get upset? Why does god need to be worshiped? If he is a jealous god then he is not perfect because jealousy is a negative emotion. I don't think god has an ego or a desire to be worshiped.

Humans have free will. Angels do not.

Satan ("the Adversary") was created by god to do what he does. That is and always has been part of The Plan.

God is not good or just or fair. He just is.

faiths than those around them? You would think that if you were going to 'preach upon the hill' as it were, that you would want to learn as much as possible about the message you were trying to give to people. Rather it seems that people spout off rhetoric spewed to them from a person who heard it from a guy that heard it from a guy that thinks this one guy mighta said this, that heard she did that one thing. It just boggles the mind don't you think?

Cultures that were so far removed from each other. It's obvious that something large-scale happened to have so many people write about it. If there was a total lunar eclipse and all cultures wrote about it, we would assume they were all observing the same phenomenon. Why not assume that the flood actually happened, too?

Who "have" to go to church? Im open to my wife about my non-beliefs but she truly loves for me to go to church with her. She never tries to force anything on me. She only wants me there for her comfort and as her husband. Anyone else go? What do you think about the whole time? Any good or bad experiences?

It has recently come to my attention, in this forum, that some Atheists do not disregard the possibility of some sort of afterlife. If this applies to You, would You tell me about this afterlife? Or is it just an unexamined possibility to You?

Can anyone add to these?

Even "Missions" derive from military operations.

Why can't they be exclusively non-combative in reference to themselves?

In the US, religion has become a major issue in our political process. Everyone seems focused on promoting their own agenda, and not what is best for our country as a whole.

How do we find a political candidate that will look at our national interests, not exploit other countries, and not buy into any one religions' political agenda?

It is very hard getting a straight answer from the Chriastians... This is not a bashing, it is frustration, because I would like a straight linear answer to my questions. Instead of getting the same answer in different formulations, I get many different conflicting answers formulated differently.

Why is it that Christians don't give the same answers to a question? They are all following the same book and the same set of rules, right?

Over time in a world where religion has dispersed. Modern times have shown these connections to slowly deteriorate. With Empires alleging their holy books to have absolutely no flaws. All accepting everything in its deceitful print, they pursuit to interpret these enshrined pages. To gather aspiration and formulated belief. Their community now falls from expanding socialism. A divided population disposed. One half putting their gods to rest now only praise the antagonist of what they once worshipped. His words cradle his followers. While the others being sealed out of the world they once knew out of pure ignorance. Knowing their fate they accept to relinquish themselves, hundreds upon thousands take on religious suicide. A religious populace reduced to mere filth.

by MAN?????
The Bible was written because it applied to the people of every generation....

Are you saying thier is not one Universal truth? or does truth even matter in today's secualr society? IS it more important for people to do what makes them happy or to do what's true and right?

If people don't have one truth then don't you think society will just evolve into whatever truth is right for them?

If that is the case I venture to say for some people
Religious Intolerance
Racism
Adultery
Fornication and Sexual Peversion
Greed
Selfishness
might be a *TRUTH* that they believe is right for them, and who is going to condemn them> MAN? so what? people don't care what other's have to say it's like that saying everyone has an opinion and they all.. Fill in the blank------- My point is GOD's truth is ONE-Universal otherwise what do we have?

"miracle of life?"
