Who "have" to go to church? Im open to my wife about my non-beliefs but she truly loves for me to go to church with her. She never tries to force anything on me. She only wants me there for her comfort and as her husband. Anyone else go? What do you think about the whole time? Any good or bad experiences?

Moiraes Fate: I do it so she doesnt have to go alone. I didnt go for a long time and still skip some times. She respects my beliefs, so Ill go with her, it makes her happy...
I think deep down though she thinks Ill find faith, but that Im 100% certain will never happen.

Sal: good point. Im lucky though, this church is over in 45 minutes, give or take a min or two. They talk about what mission thy are currently working on, tell a short story and Bam, its over. If it were a longer, more forceful environment, Im sure we would have problems...

I go once a month, perhaps less. I always find it uncomfortable. I don't like to be involved in rituals that I don't believe in particularly when everyone around me completely believes. Aside from that the people there are pleasant and the experience is generally positive (but dull). If she wants you to go, then go (in my mind its the same thing if I want her to go to a softball game of mine, time out of her day to be with me).

I'm not an atheist or Christian, but I have gone to church with my husband. Like you, I go to support him in his faith, as he supports me in mine. Overall, I haven't found it to be a negative experience. There are times when I leave feeling a sense of peace, because I am with a group of people generally putting off a positive, peace loving vibe. He's Methodist, so there is no hell fire and brimstone action....

I usually kick back, enjoy the beauty of the stained glass windows/architecture of the church, and basically go into a meditative state. Again, it's a very laid back environment, and I keep in mind that I am there for my husband, not for spiritual enlightenment. Although I must say, I have heard some surprisingly progressive thought during some of the sermons.

I go to Catholic church every Sunday. I don't like going, but sometimes I take the hour to meditate. It's not a great place to do it though because there's always someone blabbering on about something. Usually I can manage pretty well though.

I don't go to show I do not support that fantasy. It has had way too much influence and power already, it looks down on reason and thoughtfulness about spirituality not centered on it's unnatural version and it's still trying to invade where it can!

Well - if she find your company a value, no matter where it may be, you should indulge her. As long as it is not an attemt to convert you.

No. Why would I do that? I could be home sleeping and my husband would never ask such a thing of me. He knows how much I disagree with it and would never ask me to do something I so vehemently disagree with.
