by MAN?????
The Bible was written because it applied to the people of every generation....

Are you saying thier is not one Universal truth? or does truth even matter in today's secualr society? IS it more important for people to do what makes them happy or to do what's true and right?

If people don't have one truth then don't you think society will just evolve into whatever truth is right for them?

If that is the case I venture to say for some people
Religious Intolerance
Racism
Adultery
Fornication and Sexual Peversion
Greed
Selfishness
might be a *TRUTH* that they believe is right for them, and who is going to condemn them> MAN? so what? people don't care what other's have to say it's like that saying everyone has an opinion and they all.. Fill in the blank------- My point is GOD's truth is ONE-Universal otherwise what do we have?

Things in a science book are repeatable and verifiable.

Nothing in the Bible is. And there are things in it that are blatantly wrong. That shows that it isn't a good source.

I'm pretty sure most people dismiss Nostradamus and "fortune tellers" as well. And I've read some of the "prophecies" and they still don't convince me. They strike me as Nostradamus-style writings where the passages are vague enough that they can fit a bunch of different situations. If there was a direct reference to 9/11 or World War II or something, that'd be one thing, but really, what has the Bible predicted? And more importantly, why are some of these events taking two millennia to actually happen?

The Things Written About In a Science Text Are Scrutinized Heavily, as Well as Being Possibly In Error, Religion is Not.

well it is because the bible and other holy books require exemption from any kind of evidence to credit their make belief stories. Science requires reproducible proof. That is why even though it is written by man, it is still accepted by man. The bible is a book that is very old, without evidence or any basis in reality (eg, rising from the dead, walking on water, multiplying fish, water to wine, levitation). Without some claim to divinity, it becomes nothing more than the writings of an untreated schizophrenic that unfortunately has become the code of life for many sane people

While I agree with your beliefs in the teachings of the Bible, your argument is not persuasive. The science textbook doesn't claim to be anything other than a man-made book of principles learned through experimentation. The Bible holds itself to a much higher standard, thus comparing it to a lowly science textbook does it disservice.

That is one thing I will never understand. But Jesus did say people would run form the truth, so it isn't really surprising in that sense. But it's surprising when people hear of both and then refuse the Bible, and when they refuse the Bible in the first place without ever looking into it. We can only pray.

science books are written with Facts. Their information has been tested and proven. It explains HOW and WHY.
The bible, has been written by MANY people, from MANY different times, changing every time it is re written.
Can you PROVE that "god" came down and made everything. Science proves things, bibles just have faith in things.

God and I are working on writing a new scientific version of the Bible that will supersede all previous and current religious versions of the Bible.

Science gets peer review and editors.

The Bible? Read your Old Testament. Did you notice that anyone who disagreed with Moses got skewered by his loyal fanatic Levites?

if you believe the bible that was written by people 2000 years ago.

why dont you believe science books that are written even to this day, that contain pictures and many facts, and references. not to mention some have videos that go with them...

why do you pick and choose what you believe?

i want to see some physical proof before i believe the bible. since the bible has no references, no pictures, no videos, no tapes, nothing that can help me believe it. i have no reason to believe in it anymore than i would believe in pink unicorn on pluto who controls the monkeys on earth.
