Or the tree of gluttony? Or any of the seven moral sins?
I am just curious as to why god said to adam and eve to not eat from the tree of knowledge rather than the tree of gluttony or vanity or lust ect..

Would those make more sense as to why adam and eve should be punished? After all those are more sinful than eating a fruit of knowledge wouldn't you agree?

Why couldn't god take on faith that adam and eve would do what he asked? Why did he have to have proof of it when he refuses to give proof to us of his existence?

Living water that Jesus spoke about is the Gift of God... and is not a reference to "sacrifice for sins." And besides, Jesus said "I will have mercy, not sacrifice." He was quoting from Hosea chapter 6 that condemns sacrifices.

Don't you think it's time to start thinking about the GIFT OF GOD that Jesus was actually talking about?

Background for this question: http://gospelenigma.com

P. S. The last time I brought up this subject there were one or two knowledgeable people who realized that this is about the Holy Spirit. That was a great start, but who wants to give me the rest of it? How is the Holy Spirit related to Living Water?

Or if you like, just answer the first question: Do you think the "Gift of God" is important?

This is an honest question.

If God himself appeared next to you and explained every question that you had, would you or would you not run as fast as you could to nearest doctors office for meds because you would believe that you were delusional?

I am a Christian been married to an abusive non-Christian man for 4 years, its literally been hell on earth,I am suffering all kinds of problems due to stress and depression. My health has also not been well.I have spent 4 years crying, and asking God for guidance/help.
Now at last he has finnally agreed to seperate/divorce if thats what I want.

I read in the bible that if your unbelieving spouse doesnt want to live anymore you are free.

would this include if he agrees to divorce? What if he doesnt care whether you stay or go and puts the decision on you?

I asked this question

"Why isn't incest legal everywhere?"

"I don't get it, people accept gay/ lesbian/ bi with no problems so why not incest? I don't see the difference between them honestly. Usually when someone mentions incest, people say it's sick but why?"

and I'm going to explain my reasons for asking it and answering several answers I got. Contrary to what some people said, I didn't ask it for myself.

One major thing seemed to be "The kids will have defects"

Do the people have to have kids? What about birth control/ condoms? People use them all the time so why not for this too? I've never gotten this argument, not everyone who has sex, has to have kids do they?

In paintings and in statues, Roman Catholics have usually portrayed saints and other holy people with halo over their heads.

According to the Holy Spirit we talk to when I asked Him about this last 2007 April, halo over their heads actually do not exist.

What do you think? Do these holy people really have halo?

For a theist... a God alone is reason enough to do whatever... even the impossible.

So to an atheist... what keeps you going when you have nothing... nobody... and beaten down ready for the count?

What DRIVES YOU when you are really at the lowest of lows and you got nothing... alone and have failed yourself with everything?

Looking at all the questions in the language section, it looks like the majority are interested in Spanish. Then there's french and other questions, with a few ones on Latin. However, it's strange to see how many questions are on about the Italian language! I was told, though, that the English love the Italian culture, just as the Spanish one. So, a question for you all, what makes you love a language or the other , Spanish or Italian? Which one do you prefer? and why so?

The number 5 doesn't exist. Show me a 5... go ahead.... you can't. But you can show me a hand that has the attribute "five fingers". The same can be said of God. We can debate the attributes of God all day (can anything be all powerful, etc) and they exist as concepts. But God, an entity, does not exist.

One form of scientific materialism is that matter is the essence of existence. In that view, we study matter because we want to study what is real, not imaginary things. This view is not in opposition to spirituality because our thoughts, our mind, etc. are just an expression of the essence of existence, whether we call it matter is irrelevant.

However, a stronger form of scientific materialism insist on an interpretation of matter in which our thoughts and our mind cannot participate in any fundamental laws like the ones we have in chemistry, biology, etc. In this view, the study of the mind and thoughts is only useful to help pathological cases like in psychology.

Before you say that the mind and our thoughts are not reliable enough to participate in fundamental laws, consider the fact that some forms of mediation has been shown to have *systematic* effects on our body and even on our environment.
