Do you think that you reject a Heavenly father becasue of it?

this doesn't mean that a believer does not have the same issue, I just wonder if you think there is a connection to it at all?

1 . In the beginning there was singularity.
2 . All the components of life, death, and all that ever was to be were as one.
3 . Within his hands, singularity was contained.
4 . The combination of such a large mass and density created uncontrollable temperatures.
5 . Although, he was great, the items contained could no longer be restricted.
6 . Life's only motivation is to thrive and to be, no matter the cost.
7 . A great explosion.
8 . And he died.
9 . Many years passed, as explosion propelled the now expanding once-singularity; spewing debris along the way.
10. Combining chaotically, and infinitely, in every way, shape and form.
11. Life must exist in infinity, there is no option but one.
12. Miniature reactors, the energies of life; left suspended in the anti-matter.
13.Debris, from Carbon, from Phosphorous, from Hydrogen, and all the pieces of the Universe; insignificant spheres began to take shape.
14.Pushed and pulled, turned and tossed, by the forces of the Universe.

I've seen the suggestion that we change our title to something new, warm, and friendly.

Which do you value more, the truth or the package it comes in? Liberals have become Progressives, Conservatives are now Compassionate Conservatives, and I hear that Joy is "New" and improved. Do you really trust them more for the oily smoothness of their reinvention?

Here is a novel thought, let us forward our ideas by the use of of compelling and well reasoned arguments. Reason has the advantage of being an honest appeal, and not an act of manipulation. New labels are not needed to forward old truths.

I am an atheist. I am proud of the fact that I have followed where reason has lead. I will not give those that reject my views the appearance of some wrong doing on my part by trying by hiding behind another name.

What do you think?

My boss's 2 year daughter has mono. Do you think it is wrong for him to bring her to the office, exposing all of us to mono, just so he can check on stuff, while his little one runs around the office talking to everyone (she is cute so it is hard to ignore her). When we said something about it, he acted offended as if there was no reason we should be skittish about her being here in the office with us. Duh . . . there's a reason they are not letting her go to daycare . . .

A new poll shows that nearly half of Christians believe it is acceptable for believers to drink alcohol ---- provided they don't get drunk.

If you think it's ok to drink, are you sure you are a true christian?

Do you wonder about it, like me? It's the very thing that differentiate true Christianity from all other religions.

We talk a good talk, but where is the power? I am not saying that I have the answer; I too want to know. The world sees our large churches, dance teams, music ministries, movie screens, and sophisticated programs, But where is the power of the Holy Spirit? Non believers do not want you to convince them about your Jesus; illustrate His power and raise the dead.

6 black kids ganged up on a white kid and assaulted him, beating him badly. They are all being brought up on charges ranging all the way to attempted murder.
This is in contrast to a bunch of white kids hanging nooses in a tree where a black kid had been sitting.
Now, while I will agree that what these white kids did was tasteless, rude, mean and derogatory...they did not BEAT someone bloody. No physical assault took place. They did not put anyone in the hospital.

Now blacks are complaining about unfair treatment for the black kids of Jena 6.

Am I the ONLY person who does not see the MAJOR difference between what these two groups of kids did? One group was just plain, downright rude and mean. The other committed assault and battery. Last time I checked, being rude and offensive was not against the law. Assault and battery is.

Over on the freakanomics blog we've been debating clotheslines. Apparently some communities forbid them because they look "trashy" and people are concerned they'll see someone else's underwear.

What say you? Are clotheslines embarrassing and/or trashy?

I'm not trying to be a pessimist, but talking from life experience here, this world is just TOO evil. IT really is, everything from discrimination, to hate, to competition, to people and their own human values which are pride, money, image, status, everything.

Simply living in this world will expose you to so much bs, and it's very hard to rise above, when the masses are either brainwashed, dumb, selfish, or living for themselves, and some which are out to get you.

Even tiny evils, such as residents in NYC trying to get you for every little thing such as parking violations, on purpose. IF people keep focusing on the small things, and are vengeful like that, they can easily get some "sucker" religious person who's not in tune to whats going on around him.

That's just a very small example. Evil intended people are everywhere, and some of them are very powerful.

This world feels like a stressed, nasty place, where anyone is vulnerable to danger.

What do we do?
