Yes, it does work. It's all about focused energy and following through AFTER the spell is cast. What I mean by that is, for example, I did a spell to help someone I worked with stop being so belligerent and more cooperative. I also stopped reacting to her attitude, realizing that I had responded negatively to her. Now we have a wonderful working relationship. The only spells I do "against" people are to right a balance that I believe is out of whack and yes, this could sometimes be construed as "hexing" them. If someone has screwed me over I have no qualms about righting the balance and showing them the error of their ways, so to speak. I do not believe in the rede or the threefold law, as I see these as control tactics. There is no reason to fear your own power to affect others, you must only use it wisely and not get too pompous about it or you will be careless.

Spells do work, if you understand them correctly.

Spells are for the caster. They DO help you articulate your intention, focus your mind, and assert your will. They DO NOT take the place of physical action and behaviors and the real work that goes into creating life how you want it. The creation process goes Thought  Word  Deed. Spells help you with the first two. The last you must do on your own to make your intention manifest.

It only works against someone else if they allow it (and thereby are participating in the spell against themselves). This is much more headology than actual magic, tricking someone into manifesting harm upon themselves. Quite silly really.

Spell casting is just sending out energy to heal. (The same as when other faiths pray. This is also the sending out of energy, only not in a church setting.) Some people who are just mean do send energy to harm..but it would harm no more than a person from another faith praying for a mean person to drop dead.-It is really this simple. It is an error to believe that spells harm any more than prayers coming from others for harm to come. Most people who do spells are doing so to send energy to a person who is ill and needs extra energy to recover, etc...or to a country where there is major poverty or war to recover.
I do not know to what extent it works? But it can hurt if it doesn't help! It is with good intent 99 percent of the time. If pagans (Native Americans, Wiccans, etc..) send healing energy spells/prayers and Christians, Jewish people and other faiths all pray for healing and to send positive energy..at least we are all agreeing to work together for something good and are have our energies set on peace and not war or fighting, right?

Spell casting was/is not meant to be used against anyone in most Pagan religions. A spell is a very ritualized prayer for change that a Witch or other creates by bringing their total being/thoughts/emotions into focus in order to control the energy of change. It is change that is brought about through complete positive reinforcement which tends to be very contagious. But like any other type of contagion you can choose to join in or not.

The attitude and intentions of someone who manipulates energy has a lot to do with it's effectiveness. Bear in mind the return factor.

It works basically the same as focused prayer. Belief, intent, and need are important but remember you reap what you sow.
