I'm not trying to be a pessimist, but talking from life experience here, this world is just TOO evil. IT really is, everything from discrimination, to hate, to competition, to people and their own human values which are pride, money, image, status, everything.

Simply living in this world will expose you to so much bs, and it's very hard to rise above, when the masses are either brainwashed, dumb, selfish, or living for themselves, and some which are out to get you.

Even tiny evils, such as residents in NYC trying to get you for every little thing such as parking violations, on purpose. IF people keep focusing on the small things, and are vengeful like that, they can easily get some "sucker" religious person who's not in tune to whats going on around him.

That's just a very small example. Evil intended people are everywhere, and some of them are very powerful.

This world feels like a stressed, nasty place, where anyone is vulnerable to danger.

What do we do?

PLEASE don't start quoting Bible selections, as I'm already aware, and it doesn't really help. I even carry around a Bible and a crucifix etc etc, blessed by holy water, I don't see a difference.

Maybe because it's bs? (not trying to offend God here)

I do have faith, to a degree, but I don't have faith in other people anymore.

Everyone is in his or her own world, and finding genuinely good people out there who care, is becoming impossible.

It's all about money, rushing, judgements, looks, getting ahead, all the evil things.

Being a good person or doing good things for others, is almost looked down upon sadly.

Or at least, people will say "Good for you!" But personally, couldn't care less. Hypocrisy.

God alone obviously won't protect us every time we step foot outside of our home.

I mean I've gotten into car accidents, had bad things hapen, almost died a few times.

Where was God? lol.

What do we Do about all the evil out there, realistically?

I've experienced evil in its various forms throughout my life. The world is a horrible place, filled with vileness and filth. There isn't anything that can be done on a massive scale, but you can protect yourself from the effects of evil by building your faith, and sheltering yourself in God's Word. Carrying around a Bible, holy water and a crucifix won't save you, those are simply superstitious charms. Using the spoken Word of God will save you from fear.

After I was the victim of a horrible crime (when I was a backslider), I started reciting the 23rd Psalm aloud. I was able to find peace. After I was widowed, I discovered Psalm 91, which I read aloud anytime I'm scared or worried. It states in the book of Ephesians that the sword of the Holy Spirit is the Word of God (the Greek word, "rhema" means the spoken word).

Yes, terrible things do happen, even to those of deep faith. The difference is that those who do not have faith react with fear, while those with faith have reassurance that whatever happens, God is near and able to comfort us.

Yes, the world is an evil place because of the human condition. We all have the capacity in us for great acts of evil, it's just the way our minds were created (by god or evolution, i've no idea).

As to changing it, there's nothing you can do to stop ALL evil in it's tracks. If you're lucky you can help a few people see the light and recognise the need for good, but a pure good world sort of infringes on people's rights to be evil should they so choose (i'm niether encouraging or discouraging either evil or good, i'm simply stating what i see here). At the end of the day, all people who are capable of seeing the massive capacity the human race has can do is draw comfort from the fact that so many more people choose to not use that capacity.

The fact that you're still here Is proof that God has kept His hand on you. Remember the Bible says that In the Last days: The coming of the Son of man will be as In the days of Noah. You can carry around a bible wear a cross and have a gallon of holy water and still go to hell. We need to call a solemn fast and humble ourselves before the Lord and repent,so that we can hear from the Lord and He will heal our land (shortened & paraphrased).Repentance, Intercessory prayer and fasting Is a start.
Not All ! But most of todays' leaders In the judicial system call good evil & evil good. All these things have been prophecied In the Bible. We're In the Last Days. If we faint not, then God will renew our strength as that of the eagle,we will run & not faint. Carrying around religious Items does not mean a thing, unless you have the Real Jesus Christ living In your heart. It's about a personal relationship with Jesus.** Remember,Hell has no fire escapes !

Yes I do feel the world is an evil place, But God also tells us that. We just need to know that we arent alone. You can't focus on all the negative things though because there is plenty of goodness out there as well. Open your eyes and stop living in so much fear. We all face dangers everyday. If youre a Christian, you have to hold on tight to that. Learn to appreciate all the wonderful things that God has given you everyday. Most Christians realize all the evils surrounding them, but their faith and love and forgiveness pull them through all the bad stuff. I know when I feel like you do,( and yes.. sometimes I get overwhelmed with all the crap in this world) I know I need to spend more time communicating with the Lord. That's how I fight it, and it works every time.
God Bless!

u r walking around w/ a bible and a crucifix...u r questioning God's power, doubting His love and protection 4 us and complaining about the evil in the world all at once.

Please do not hold God's name accountable 4 ur lack of faith (which u kinda have-u say)! God is not the author of confusion-im sure u know that as well!

U will never have peace as long as u think 2 physical objects are gonna give GOD reason 2 call u HIS own! Not gonna happen!

Evil lurks bc people dont know where their help comes from. THE LORD! Christians are in tune to what is going on...the simple fact is...they r in the world but not of it!

People r vulnerable 2 danger bc they say, think and do things opposing GOD when all HE wants is them 2 turn 2 HIM so they can b protected. Until then...the devil has a hold of them!

Im praying that u get understanding and that GOD touches ur heavy heart my friend...God Bless

Honey, carrying a bible won't help anyone. And there is no such thing as holy water. Light casts out darkness. If you are a born again Christian, the bible clearly tells us what our weapon is against evil, it is reflecting the light of Jesus by being good, kind, merciful, loving, compassionate, forgiving. The only weapons against evil are the things of God. Ultimately, He will rule and reign one day. All we can do is treat others as Jesus Christ wants us to, and leave the result to God. You, in your own strength, have no weapons to fight the enemy. Only the name and power of Jesus Christ can do that.

Your only protection is to be a child of God, and that is done by accepting Christ as your savior. Funny that you tell people not to say this to you. The one thing you don't want to hear is your only answer.

My son called last night. He has been struggling with a lot of problems in his life lately, and said he was working and kept thinking of them all and said, too, "why God?" and then he said it was like a thump on his head, saying, "No, it isn't God's fault; it's satan's". We allow satan to rule over our earth with not allowing God into our lives; not praying, praising Him, nor repenting. Each day seems to get worse 'out there'. I'm watching CNN right now about the rascist groups gathering in Jena, LA; what's going to happen there? Our world is not safe at all, and probably will not be until Jesus comes again. In the meantime, we have to stand tall for Christ. Rebuke all evil in His name and daily ask His angels to come to you to help protect you and yours. I live in a small town, so the stress is a lot less than the big cities, but we are still not safe. I'll stand on the word for my strength and pray for others to recognize wherein their strength may lie..through Christ.

As a Christian I am very well aware of the chaos that goes on around me. Christians fight spiritual battles all the time. We put the full of armor of God on for protection and God has given us his wisdom to make the right choices in life.

The best you can do is be the best person you can be. I used to say the same thing a lot. I just started investing time in people and helping as many people as I could including people I could not stand. Instead of trying to change everyone else change yourself and others will follow. Whenever I have done something nice for someone they usually are more likely to do something nice for someone else.
