I used to be a Top Contributor here. I think they took it away because I stopped asking questions.
Ask and answer a lot in a specific category and you'll eventually get it.

You need to be on here answering questions regularly in very specific categories(asking doesn't seem to be an issue as imacatholic2 hasn't asked any), and you need to have a minimum 11% Best Answer ratio.

i think of it has something to do with the type of questions you answer in a definite classification. perhaps, case in point, you ought to respond to a hundred+ questions in pcs and information superhighway after which you're offered suitable Contributor.

I used to be one and I never really knew why. It lasted only few days, so don't worry you will not be a top contributor for long (joking). :)

simply contribute and you are a contributer you don't need to look from what height you are contributing (cos looking my place i am only 20meters above sea level)
Just pay your roll and you are a contribute. may be if all others are under the sea i will be a topper LOL
