Humans often fall short of our ideals in their quest to manifest our devine nature.
Babies fall down lots when they are learning to walk. Does that mean they should give up trying to walk?

I think a greater concern is how the western lifestyle as a whole is going to exist when asian countries do the same thing. It's simply not sustainable by the west currently for everyone to have petro-burning cars, big houses, and tons of material possessions--, let alone when china and other nations try to live a more westernized style.
Of course most people are so busy buying stuff produced in factories that they are oblivious to the road ahead of them...

Well, just look at the some of the so called Christian preachers thus far... Benny Hinn, a televangilist in his own words said: " I don't want to wait for my riches in Heaven when I can afford a Rolex now!" Also Tammy and Jim Baker televangalist: They used the majority of the money people gave to the church for their own possessions like million dollar houses, an air conditioned large dog house, cars galore, jewelry etc. And another, Oral Roberts, also a televangalist, made a 'wish' to his christian viewers to "Please send me some money so I can buy a new suit for my birthday!".. Well they all sent him so much money for this 'suit' he wanted that he ended up with millions! Yeah, I doubt he spent it on a suit! I could go on about similar stories like this, but will stop here. When I USED to believe and go to church, my own paster use to brag that he made over $1,500 per week being a preacher and use to ride around town in his BMW convertible with the top down! Of course they lust, even more than non christians do!

Christians are not without sin, and in this lust after material things in the world do occur. After all, we're still human beings. But, we will get convicted by the Holy Spirit when these things occur. We are expected to listen to Him when He speaks. What I cannot figure out is why people seem to think that Christians think they are better than everyone else. We know that we are being transformed by the grace of God, not because that we think we are better than anyone else. It is God that is right and above all things.

Since I admitted to the whole premarital sex sin, I can afford to be a little more "holier than thou" on this question.
For some reason - don't ask me why - accumulation of material possessions has never really interested me. The biggest purchase I've ever made for sheer personal entertainment was my big screen plasma TV.
Otherwise I'm kinda a miser with my money, storing it up in bank accounts, CD's, 401-K, stocks, etc. and I know deep down I know - I'm not as generous with my money as I should be, nor do I tithe enough to the church.
If the purpose of your survey questions was to prove that we as Christians are hypocrites or don't follow the tenets and precepts of our faith - CONGRATULATIONS! I think you have succeeded....at least with ONE Christian I know of - ME!
But just because Christians are imperfect or hypocrites or sinners - is no reason not to believe in Jesus Christ.
I hope you don't use your survey results as an excuse to reject Christianity.
Like the old saying goes - "How do we know if Christianity works or not? No one has ever tried it!"
At least consider His teachings - to love your neighbor, forgive your enemies, do unto others, turn the other cheek, show compassion to those in need - even if you reject Christianity, at the very least - try to practice the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Good luck on your journey, brother....hope to see you on the other side!!

According to the Bible, people who claim the name of Christ as their own but who exibit that behavior may not truly be saved.
1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world--the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions--is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

what do you expect ? just look at the leaders of your churchs, Evangelists, the pope for christs sake lives in a palace unequaled in its grandeur and riches and full of priceless artefact's. how much is the Vatican's bank worth? how much do they have invested in various stocks? if all the churchs in the world pooled their money together i'm sure they could go along way to eradicating world poverty.if they actually practiced what they preached then maybe christians wouldnt be so materialistic.

I have needs, but not much that I can say I lust after. I really don't have neighbors, so that's not an is sure. All in all God has greatly provided for all my needs and I am quite satisfied.

4. Does it matter how many. You ask the same question several times. Everyone sins. Even Christians. But we are forgiven. Does not give us a permit to sin but if we fall we have Jesus to catch us. What ya got? By the way some christians drink, look at porn, steal, lie, speed, go to walmart...etc.

I do not. But I do buy books, mainly to increase my own knowledge, which in turn feeds my own pride.
But you are correct, too many of us have gone the wrong path. The Early Church owned all their goods in common, a practice I would like to see us return to.

Christianity today is an external practise, which mean that they are worshipping material things in order to make themselves feel better.
