im 16 and have some questions about faith. i was always mindful of God and believed that if i got in trouble i could pray and ask for help and i often did this, i also often prayed to just say thank you to him. within the past year or two though ive been so depressed, with thoughts of suicide and such. I continued to pray but it seemed to do nothing. i just became more and more depressed about life, about school, about everything. I seemed to get made fun of everywhere i went and no one loved me. Why would God do this to me? Ive gotten to the point where i dont care for anything in life anymore. If i was stabbed tomorrow, i would be perfectly content with that

I have an honest question ..


some kids at my highschool (im a junior) were talking about how white people smell like wet dogs? and africans smell like burnt rubber or "the african smell"? i have no idea what either is but can someone tell me why exactly whites=wet dog? and blacks="the black smell"?

does it have to do with diets what


(please no racist jokes or "oh your attitude sucks" im trying to find out why some people think different races smell differently..)

Yesterday I posted a question; I just wanted to know if people were curious about other faiths and if so, did they ask friends/colleagues of other religions any questions.

One person called FERSYNOXO or something like that replied 'You are obsessed with religion in general.'

I am going to do the RCIA course soon and then study to become a Priest, I have just found out I was adopted but before the adoption I was baptised a Catholic, I received all the information and because I live over 100 kms away from the nearest Catholic Church I will drive there once a month and the Priest will visit me the other fortnight, I feel this is what God wants me to do and He is preparing me for the Priesthood

For twenty-three years, God's words (the Qur'an) were truly put into Muhammad's (pbuh) mouth. He was not the “11th author” of the Qur'an, the Qur’an was dictated to Muhammad (pbuh) by Angel Gabriel, who asked him to simply repeat the words of the Qur'an as he heard them. These words were then committed to memory and to writing by those who hear them during Muhammad's lifetime and under his supervision.
Was it a coincidence that the prophet "like unto Moses" from the "brethren" of the Israelites (i.e. from the Ishmaelites) was also described as one in whose mouth God will put his words and that he will speak in the name of God., ( Deuteronomy 18:18-20 ). Was it also a coincidence the "Paraclete" that Jesus foretold to come after Him was described as one who "shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak (John 16:13).

Was it another coincidence that Isaiah ties between the messenger connected with Ke'dar and a new song (a scripture in a new language) to be sang unto the Lord (Isaiah 42:10-11 ). More explicitly, prophesies Isaiah "For with stammering lips, and another tongue, will he speak to this people" (Isaiah 28:11 ). This latter 'verse correctly describes the "stammering lips" of Prophet Muhammad reflecting the state of tension and concentration he went through at the time of revelation. Another related point is that the Qur'an was revealed in piece-meals over a span of twenty-three years. It is interesting to compare this with Isaiah 28:10 which speaks of the same thing.

I've been reading Michael Shermer's "Why Darwin Matters" and in it he devotes a section on why Christians should accept evolution and that it really doesn't mess with the religion.

I guess what he's getting at is that most people don't consider the story of Genesis to be litteral especially Adam and Eve.

What I wanna know is this. Isn't Adam and Eve's original fall from grace the WHOLE reason Jesus sacrificed himself? I mean if you consider Adam and Eve to be symbolic and not literal then what did Jesus die for exactly?

I Mean I can see how evolution could be compatible with Judaism, but not Christianity.

I know a religious person with a mother who is a really horrible person. My friend had told me that her mother was in financial problems so she would let her mother stay with her for a while. She didn't want to do tat because her mother is a B and it would cause a strain on her and her husband's relationship. She said she would do it because if she did she "would for sure get into heaven then."

1 Thes 5:18 says we should be thankful for ALL circumstances in our lives for this is God's will.

I know the natural mind cannot understand this but if we do it by faith, it opens the door for God to move in each situation and cause them to work for the good. Trust him.

Remember, your Faith is more precious than gold. The fire of our trials purifies it.

Will you be thankful for all things?

Was the first born son of Abraham (Ishmael) and his descendants included in God's covenant and promise? A few verses from the Bible may help shed some light on this question:

1. Genesis 12:2-3 speaks of God's promise to Abraham and his descendants before any child was born to him.
2. Genesis 17:4 reiterates God's promise after the birth of Ishmael and before the birth of Isaac.
3. In Genesis, ch. 21 . Isaac is specifically blessed but Ishmael was also specifically blessed and promised by God to become "a great nation" especially in Genesis 21:13, 18.
4. According to Deuteronomy 21:15-17 the traditional rights and privileges of the first-born son are not to be affected by the social status of his mother (being a "free" woman such as Sarah, Isaac's mother, or a "Bondwoman" such as Hagar, Ishmael's mother). This is only consistent with the moral and humanitarian principles of all revealed faiths.
5. The full legitimacy of Ishmael as Abraham's son and "seed" and the full legitimacy of his mother, Hagar, as Abraham's wife are clearly stated in Genesis 21:13 and 16:3.

After Jesus, the last Israelite messenger and prophet, it was time that God's promise to bless Ishmael and his descendants be fulfilled. Less than 600 years after Jesus, came the last messenger of God, Muhammad (peace be upon him), from the progeny of Abraham through Ishmael. God's blessing of both of the main branches of Abraham's family tree was now fulfilled.

This is a conversation that a friend (who is Christian) and I were discussing one day. So I thought I would throw it out here to see what responses I would get. It has to do with forgiveness.

Hypothetically...Someone murders your parents. They are caught. Prior to a trial date...the murderer claims to have found God and asked for his forgiveness. When you see the murderer for the first time at the trial with this knowledge, do you forgive them? I'm not just talking "It's nice that he found God." I'm talking about COMPLETE forgiveness because the event led him to God.

My point in the conversation is that I find it a "conveinience" that many people go out and do whatever...then pull the "God will forgive me" card. By the way...my friend actually said he wouldn't care what the murderer claimed to have found...he would want his butt on a platter! Just curious...
