This has been brought up here often as a negative thing, in the context that "everyone should be allowed to partake of the Lord's Supper", implying that the Church is unreasonably exclusionary and the policy is un-Christian.

There are solid Scriptural reasons for it (and for that matter not all Catholics are automatically allowed to receive), but I'd like to see if those who claim to be offended by this actually know what those reasons are.

This is not a "baiting" rhetorical question. I am truly interested in discovering why this is an issue.

Since I don't begrudge anyone two points, and it's pointless to try to restrict answers to a certain group anyway, I would ask my fellow Catholics to identify themselves as such. I hope to give the points for "best" to a non-Catholic who actually has accurate information. Or at least comes close -- with or without quoting the Bible.

I always had a heavy heart for completed Jews. My parents taught me that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a Jew to know God. They told me how when a Jew turns his life over to Jesus his family disowns him and they loose contact. So when a Jew becomes a completed Jew and stops wondering loss in the desert it is a really joyous and special occasion. God bless the completed Jews who have been wondering in the desert for centuries trying to find their God soon to realize that the Jesus their ancestors put to death, who arose from the dead and ascended into Heaven is God.

Did your god NOT need the blood of Christ to "make"everything okay?

I had Christians tell me in my last posting that their god never liked blood offerings and didn't need blood.
