These apparitions of the Virgin Mary are because she comes to lead the Children of God back to him. They know it is the Virgin Mary because she annouces herself, like " I am the Lady of the Rosary," meaning Mary because Mary is the Mother of the Rosary.

The most famous that I know about is the 3 children of Fatima (Spain I think, or Portugal) , in the early 1900's....

The 3 children were alone in the woods (why? unknown)...

They got thursty..and had no water...., but they knew how to pray.... They all kneeled down and prayed the Virgin Mary (Mother of heaven for all children) and She appeared to them.
She told them to dig in the earth and that water would be....
They did so and the water was.... The chilren asked who she was, and She said she was the Virgin Mary.... The children told what happened.... and water is still there since then....
Multitude of miracles happened there since then.....
Lucy, one of the 2 little girls, became a Catholic nun and died
in the 1970's.....
There is a good movie that was made about this a while ago.
You may want to seek and find it in specialised places...

Believe,,,

Good Luck

The sightings of Mary are called Apparitions. This is one way in which God reaches out to contact us, if you will. She may appear in various places, possibly areas of need such as conflict, and there may be miracles during the time she is present. They are determined to be genuine by someone of authority I'm sure, but not positive on who.

l have never heard or read of the apparition described by Louise D.l would like to know more specifically what tittle the Lady took.
And by the Way Fatima is not in Spain and the details you give
do not match the visions seen in Portugal, nor does "Lucy" who
died in 1970.
lts most likely a fabricated novel for a movie as you say.
