I was unable to do any traveling at that time due to a broken foot but I did set an internet search team to reunite or inform families where there family members were located. It was an experience that I will never forget. The project fast became a landslide and I ended up working from dawn to dusk talking to hundreds of people, listening to so many heartbreaking stories and knowing that miracles do exist. I am not bragging, I am thankful for this experience.

I went to my local chapter of the American Red Cross to volunteer my services in the area affected by Hurricane Katrina. I'm a retired Naval Officer and Health Care Ã
dministrator. In 1975 I was the Medical Administrator for Indochinese Resettlement at Camp Pendleton in California, running medical matters for 18,000 people living in tents. For the first 13 years in the Navy I was a Hospital Corpsman and had even performed surgery on duty independent of a medical officer. The Red Cross responded by telling me I would have to take their First Aid and CPR courses first and that there would be a charge. I walked out and never returned. I think I could have been a big help in the recovery effort, but I came across a major relief organization inhabited by idiots!

No, I have not yet. Our church does this so I will be doing it soon.
I did no volunteer work for Hurricane Katrina but I did send money when they had the celebrity telethon. I think I talked with Tyra Banks. I asked her what her name was and I thought she said Kyra and then she spelled it and it dawned on me it might be her. That giving gave me such great joy.

When they came to Arkansas I helped. but since I am a senior citizen I would love to have gone there and helped out. {It made me very angry the way our government treated them and knew this would happen and did not help}>
