Oh, and by the way... it's LUTHERANS, "manly man".
LizBeth... Here I am... a Lutheran from birth... both births!!! There are other Lutherans on Y-Answers, but I guess it's just quiet for them tonight. As for Catholics... have you ever been to a Catholic service or watched one on TV (Notre Dame comes to mind)? Liturgically, we are very similar to their service. Remember, Luther didn't "protest" against the Catholic church, he wanted to REFORM it, to get rid of the misguided practices the church was "practicing." That is why we celebrate "Reformation Day," not "Protestation Day."
My father was Catholic before he converted to Lutheranism, and it was always his hope that the Catholic church would sooner or later make the reforms that Luther had so many years ago, and that the Lutheran and Catholic churches could then reunite. May never happen, but I know it was his hope.
Have a blessed day!
