The confusion is understandable and expected. The purpose of earth life is to learn and grow in ways that must be accomplished step by step. If some powerful being just appeared and told you everything, the planned growth wouldn't occur.

The best way for you to proceed is to continue your search for truth and at the same time bring your life into compliance with what you currently feel is right. As you do this, you'll be led to greater and greater light. As Isaiah said, line upon line, precept upon precept.

There are some videos at the following web site that may help.

You'll feel better to know that many people feel this way, and many people have come to such a transitional point in their lives.

I was a Catholic until I had my own doubts. It all felt empty, and imaginary-- which it really is.

After doubting, I did research, both within myself and from outside sources, and I came to the conclusion that God didn't exist. I can tell you with great conviction there is no personal God. Many things contradict there actually being a personal God, specifically, the problem of evil. If God is willing to prevent evil, but not able, then he is not all-powerful; if he is able, but not willing, then he is malevolent; if he is both able and willing, then why is there evil; if he is neither able nor willing, then why call him God? Also, it only takes flipping through some of the Bible to realize it is all nonsense. That is, stone disobedient kids, the earth is flat, etc.

I believe God was made up to comfort and control people. Death is a reality of life, and with that death, we fade into nothingness. It is depressing, but it certainly makes you value your one and only life a lot more.

Learn all you can, this is your life. You're lucky to even exist.

Edit: I see you are so fking scared of hell that you will discard reason. If you want to waste your life believing in a fairytale, then do so. Whatever makes you feel better, follow your BS sky-daddy and shut out reality. THINK

Maggie, build on your 'positive thoughts.' Getting all bent out of shape over a god is okay for a person whose brain has been fried by all the babble, but for a man or a woman who takes to the idea of leading his or her own life, without some kind of spooky ghost looking over his or her shoulder, the god-thing can wear you away. Shelve the guilt feelings. I bet you're a good woman, a good human being who doesn't steal or lie or cook your cat in the microwave--so why feel bad about yourself? You don't deserve it. Don't play sucker to some con-man who was ordained online because his check cleared the bank.

The Bible says draw near to god, and He will draw near to you. Start by studying the Bible. Look in the New Testament, and read John first, then maybe the other gospels and Acts. Also watch some good ministries on line and/ or go to a good church.
Ask Jesus to be your Lord. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. You may want to see TBN ( Trinity Broadcasting Network). You can watch Jack Van Impe. Here is a web address. http://www.jvim.com/

Rebuke satan and tell him to get behind you, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. This is only a trick of the enemy to cause you to stubble and fall. First of all, God is not of confusion and He never changes. Write some of His (God's) promises down and post them all over, to where you can see them daily and repeat them out loud to your self. Do this until you regain the peace, faith and joy back; do not stop. Read, meditate and study God's word, because this is your weapon against the enemy. May God pour out His loving mercy, grace and peace upon you, may God restore your faith in Him and give you understanding through this confusion you are experiencing, may God cast this spirit of confusion, fear, and attacks into the outer darkness to where it can not be found no more; all in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

You are experiencing temptation leading you into darkness. do not listen to those thoughts which tell you that God is the liar. Remember this forever. Perfect love casts out fear. Not part way, but all the way. The fear is replaced with understanding, so you don't need to be scared anymore, all is (in truth) in control, although the temptation tells us this is not so. Do not worry about eternity, you have enough on your plate for this day, but remember you are already built with eternal materials.

read the bible!!! book of john.you need to recommitt your life to jesus christ. jesus isn't religion he is personel.
do this; ask jesus christ to come into your life to be lord and savior, ask him to forgive you of your sins and for him to help you live a godly life that is pleasing to him.WARNING this is based on fact NOT FEELINGS.just because you may not feel different doesn't invalidate what you said with a sincere heart.you see the lord is looking at your heart.then after this read your bible,go to a TRUE CHRISTIAN CHURCH.and get to know fellow christians.but always remember this your not perfect or anyone else including the pastor.put christ first in everything.look to him not man.and when bad things happen (sin)tell the lord i'm sorry and you will try and not do this thing in your life that is displeasing to him.read proverbs 3;5-6 even if it feels weired just do what the lord says it's call obedience.he is boss you or me are not.

Sure, atheists are right, there is no reason to believe in God, but when was the last time someone gave you a good reason not to? If you decide you want to believe in God, that's great. If you decide you don't, that's great too. You are the only one entitled to that decision.

Wise man says, In order to know God you must know yourself first. Look at yourself, your surrounding and the universe. It is so complex and couldn't exist just like that. There must be a supreme being who control all those thing. He is what we call God. If you understand all this, you will believe in Him without any prejudice.

Look around you, close your eyes and open your mind. He will guide you. That is His promise.
