We all know how gruesome and horribly violent the old testement, is. People were advancing, getting smarter, more compasionate. They didnt want to go around stoning thier own children for back talking them.

even jews today dont follow their scripture. (Tells you to kill your kids if they dont listen to you).

So in order to have people continue belieiving it had to be changed. The romans, would certainly agree to this, they get all the say so in the new sins and such.

so thwy find a man, by the name of jesus, train him for years, at illusion.

he is promised a great life after a few years of being the messiah. so he spends those years that are missing in the bible, training.

he goes out, performs illusions, of course the romains have some people paid off.

the dead man, not dead, just a drug, he got a lot of money for it, then pretended to come back to life.

blind man, pretended to see, told what to say. afterward, leaving the town, as not to be found out.

Okay, i am not religious, but i do attend church on a rare occasion. But all my friends that go to church are so against Gay Marriage. What does religion say that makes them feel this way? I just dont know how God could deny someone happiness......Please help me understand.

90% of the motorists out there NEVER check their engine oil level! Why why why? An engine rebuild costs thousands of dollars/pounds/euros/pesos/yen! How could anyone not take the extra 3 minutes to check the oil level each week? Especially since most people who own cars spend most of their money on their car aside from their home. WHY NOT TAKE CARE OF IT?

I was at the mall and i went in to the bathroom there a re three urinals and two stalls one of them in next the the last urinal so i walked up the the urinals and there is a guy in the stall next to the urinals peeing (standing up) with the door open then he turns around not knowing im there and i can see his penis why can't some guy either use a urinal or close the door

I wondered about this earlier today. I thought about how advanced things are now compared to what my parents and grandparents were used to and I can't imagine life being that much different 50 years from now because we ARE so advanced. Then I thought yeah it probably will be WAY different....just look at how much things have changed in the LAST 50 years.

Suppose you pulled a "Back to the Future" and you got the DeLorean back in time and brought someone back to the present with you. Or, what if someone woke up from a deep sleep or coma right now and the last thing they remembered was the late 50's or early 60's (picture the Happy Days era), what would the reaction be?

Can you picture all the things that would be so different than you remember that it would shock you?

Okay so what about BEFORE Jesus....

before anyone knew he existed (b/c he wasn't born yet, assuming he really did exist of course)

so all these people before Christianity are in Hell now because they didn't accept Jesus?

I mean, if he wasn't even around yet.....that doesn't make any sense. Not to mention he wasn't even around for when Christianity was invented (already dead) therefore, wouldn't his mom be in hell too? B/c i doubt she accepted him as a God or whatever.

I already know plenty about christianity.. I was looking around for some other good intro books, but its difficult to pick some out without really knowing what the religions themselves are about. I had a dream a few months ago that the devil raped me. I got over that a few weeks later. Then last week I had a dream that I was taking a bath and trying to relax. But then the lights started blinking and the tap went crazy. And when I looked up, the devil was standing and saying "I want to make you the mother of my son" And he grabbed my arms and try to rape me. And in the dream I started screaming b/c I was terrified of how he looked and his actions. I woke up then and I was so scared that I couldnt go back to sleep.
I didnt tell about this to my bf..and when we had an argument the other day he was like "why the hell are you acting as if you are poessessed by the devil or something?!" and that really hurt and freaked me out.
Am I dreaming this b/c I am stressed out a lot lately due to family issues? I am so confused and hurt. :(

Can you give specific instances where you would not, as well as specific examples where you would just merrily say "Sir, yes sir" and execute the command from the "higher" man, like a well trained Marine?

Here are a few scenarios I'd like your input on: Let's call it, "Submit, or not Submit?"

*He wants to "do it" at 3am, and you have a sinus infection, 100.3 degree temperature, and body aches. He knows this.

*He wants you to use your day off watching the kids so he can go bowl with friends. You had plans to go to the spa. He had off for two days last week and went bowling.

*You want to go play cards with some girlfriends and hang out. He says NO. No reason why. But he plays poker every weekend with his friends.

*You get offered a great position at a local college. He says NO because you will be making way more money than he will, as "teh head of teh household".

*He wants salmon, but you want chicken. You hate salmon. He likes them both.

I dont believe in god, im going to start off by saying that, I believe in the theory of evolution considering there is alot more backing evolution, than the magic man in the sky theory. Everything that people consider proof of god, is all hearsay the only thing backing it is a supposed holy book, that quite frankly could have been written by me for all you know (it wasnt ofcourse because im not delusional). I want you to really think about this, suppose you find out tomorrow that your time has come and soon you will be laying in a wooden box rotting away. What if there was some way to know just b4 you died that there is no heaven, that once you die, there is no soul within you, that you are simply erased out of existance.... how would you feel? Would you be proud that you spent your entire life following rules and regulations that simply did not matter? I think you only get one little piece of time, do you really want to spend it playing a grown up version of makebelieve?

They spurn any outsiders who believe differently to them.
They believe theirs is the only true way.
They have a rule which says that 2 people must witness something for it to be considered true (like abuse).
If you leave, they ostracise you.
That is a cult, is it not?

People claim God healed them of all kinds of things--cancer, MS, anorexia, lots of stuff. But God just does not seem to be able to pull off restoring an amputated limb. Why is that???

Jehovahs witnesses won't accept blood transfusions and would let their kids die rather than let them have one.
But they don't realise that our bodies renew the blood. We don't have the same blood in us all the time. So, a transfusion may be someone elses blood to begin with, but once the body begins renewing it, it becomes the body's blood.
Also, if we're all made from dust, what difference does it make who's blood we have? It's all the same anyway. We're all made of the same.
Explain...
