Absolutely we can be friends. In fact I really like this one girl who claims to be agnostic. I may not be able to change her beliefs but I do plan to inform her about the rapture so that if it comes in our lifetime (which I believe it will) she will recognise it and not get led astray.

I prefer to live by the ideas that all should do unto others as we would have them do unto us. By refusing to befriend an atheist because of there lack of a belief system we would not be following this idea. Would you like someone to judge you like that? I know I wouldn't.

Why not?

Religion or lack there of is only one small facet of a person.. If both parties can agree to disagree about religion and focus on the similarities rather than the differences..

One of my best friends of the last 10 years is christian I am atheist the differences haven't led to us not being friends..

All relationships have boundaries (rules) as long as both parties respect the boundaries there are no problems regardless of the differences..

My best friend and I each regard ourselves to be each other's best friends. So yes -- since he's an atheist and I'm a Christian.

We even kid each other about this now and then. Like a couple of nights ago when I told him about a response I made in here a couple of days ago... when I said: "Atheism is a religion to the same extent that NOT collecting stamps is a hobby." (I thought he was gonna die laughing!)

Why not? I don't find nothing wrong with having atheist friends. Most of my friends are Pagans or atheists while I'm a Christian. Just don't try to change there beliefs.

I have two really close friends who I would call my best friends. One of them is jewish, the other is christian. I am an atheist.
It is only a problem if you let it become one.

I am a Christian.
If the atheist in question can accept that, then we can get along and be friends. I promise not to preach at him, if he promises not to preach at me.

A pseudo christian, yes. A reborn Christian through the Holy Spirit, I doubt it.
