the first replier to this question makes a point. In some way. You wouldnt want someone to kill your family because it made them happy. But i think Gay marriage isnt hurting anyone. Its not like they are killing. Cause they are not.
Alot of people are comming up with the fact that God created man and women, not man and man or women and women. I understand that. But i feel like the world is changing. and Things in the world are changing. And that we should be open to things like this

Because some people don't think anything goes just because someone wants to be happy. Think about it. Would you want a child molester to be with your children just because it makes him happy. Or a murderer to shoot your family just to make him happy. I think not.

From what I read it sounds like a lot of people put their finger on it although I can't speak for God I would say God designed men and women to be together because this was his plan and to reject what God wanted is in rebellion against God. People can't change God's laws because it doesn't work. Let's say a person wants more then anything in the world to be able to fly and they believe with all their heart that they can fly so they step off a cliff, God's law says no matter how much you believe you step off that cliff and you're going down.

I am gay and I am married..I am not an American...but before I married I debated seriously whether I want to be part of something that straight people have screwed up so badly on. Marriage in the straight world is a failure...look at the divorce rates...look at the children affected...look at the extramarital affairs...just take a GD look at what a mess you straights have made!!! (sorry questioner--I'm not ranting at you)

First of all, Church is a man made institution, so do not confuse it with God, and the churches stance regarding marriage, is that it is and should remain, between a man and a woman. Don't ask me to explain, as I do not understand it, myself.

It's not the person people hate or should hate. It's the sin. It should be done out of caring and love. For example, I see someone who is my friend, a homosexual, and I know that it is biblically wrong (the Bible says it-don't shoot the messenger but ask God why it's wrong and He shows you in His Word why) and it is impossible in marriage, medically and scientifically. And I want to help my friend come to be saved instead of self-destruct. That's what love is. Two people of the same sex can't reproduce. Also, having sex with animals is wrong too (the Bible teaches that in the law of Moses just like the teaching against a man laying with a man, not just in the law, but also in the New Testament). Remember the saying, "God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve"? Contrary to popular belief, homosexuality is not genetic or in a person's makeup. God and His commands don't change. Babies are not born as gay or lesbian people. Like other answerers here have said which I agree with, just because it may make someone happy and feel loved, doesn't mean it's right. Just like a person molesting/raping a child and feeling happy for it doesn't make it right. The child molester can change (repent) and so can the homosexual, along with drunkards, murderers, drug addicts, thieves, idolaters, and so forth. That kind of happiness and "love" if that's what you can call it, is false. True love and happiness and peace don't come from filthy acts. It comes from being in a right relationship with God and receiving His forgiveness and grace. Not even the animals are homosexual, by the way.

For those who are caught in a sinful lifestyle, for your own good/sake, repent of all wickedness/evil (homosexuality) and become a Christian so that you can be forgiven, saved, set free, and have everything you need and no longer what takes you to the devil instead of God.
By the way, if you really want to know more reasons why Christians say it's wrong is because that's what the Bible says. Don't beat Christians over the head because they're not the ones who came up with it in the first place. God knew before the beginning that sin is wrong, sin hurts your soul way worse than any disease hurts your body or mind (and sin hurts the body and mind, too). The Bible says that those who are homosexual suffer the punishment of eternal fire but promises that those who repent and are washed in the blood of the Lamb are saved. It's not God and it's not Christians who send people to Hell, it's people who send themselves there, and despite what Hollywood and other media and what people say, Hell is not a party or anything else that's good. It's real and is the one place you never want to be at any time. There is nothing good there but everything bad there-way worse than anyone can imagine. God wants everyone to be in Heaven with Him and for no one to go to Hell, but it's people's choice in the end. That is why (or should be) why Christians are against it, because they wouldn't want someone to perish in the most awful way.

God also designed Earth to be paradise with no bad thing in it, no suffering or pain, or tears or death. But people (not just Adam and Eve) decided to follow what Satan tempts and deceives people with, instead of God and that is why the earth is in such a mess and why there are bad things going on more often than good. If everyone were a Christian following and obeying God, many of the earth's problems would vanish.

Far too many people and institutions that call themselves religious have ignorant and unkind attitudes towards gays and lesbians. Dogmatic stupidity joined to hateful actions are a tragically dangerous combination, ESPECIALLY when disguised as some kind of righteous religious thing.

But not all do. Not even all Christian churches are against gay marriage. There are several gay- and lesbian-supportive Christian churches even in my home town here in the heart of Texas.

The reason marriage was instituted in the first place was that it is a means to an end. That means being child birth and the propagation of life (let me explain).

God designed a female and a male for the most important activity humans can partake in: propagation of life.

Therefore only God would approve of gay relationships and marriage by allowing a male and male or a female and female conceive a baby by NATURAL means. This isn't the case.

Females are given the equipment to do the dance with men and vice versa. By the way: A sexual relationship is only a means to an end. That end being propagation of life, therefore even homosexual sexual relationships aren't approved by God.

Hope this helps

Not all religions are against gay marriage, for a start. Most of the Neo-Pagan faiths are very accepting of LGBT members and are willing to perform gay marriage ceremonies; in fact, Wicca (at least) has some denominations that are specifically geared toward LGBT practitioners.

These are the biblical reasons that should drive us who hold to the Word of God. These Scriptures may be meaningless to unbelievers.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
(1) God defines homosexual offenders as among “the WICKED.”
• Ephesians 5:11, KJV And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
• The Christian’s duty is to reprove, not to ignore, that which God calls wicked.
(2) God lists “homosexual offenders” among those who HE determines will “not inherit the kingdom of God.”
• No “TOLERANCE” there. No bowing at the altar of “DIVERSITY” there.
• No endorsement from heaven of homosexual churches there.
• No platitudes about the LOVE of God embracing all lifestyles and behaviors, including gay marriages.

God doesn't deny happiness to anyone...but sin is not happiness.

God wants us to be happy in Him...not in this world. Religious people are against homosexuality for many reasons...not against homosexuals but against their lifestyle and their attempt to justify sin. Sin cannot be justified...pornography is a sin but accepted by society...and I guess some would say it makes them happy. Maybe someone having an affair could say..how is this wrong if it makes me happy. Or a pedophile is very happy when molesting a child...see what I mean? Happiness is not always a good thing if your happiness is derived from a perversion and homosexuality is just that.

My sister-in-law is actively lesbian. I love her. I pray for her. Christians are not against the people only that they are blind and ignoring the certain consequences of their sin.
