I had a dream a few months ago that the devil raped me. I got over that a few weeks later. Then last week I had a dream that I was taking a bath and trying to relax. But then the lights started blinking and the tap went crazy. And when I looked up, the devil was standing and saying "I want to make you the mother of my son" And he grabbed my arms and try to rape me. And in the dream I started screaming b/c I was terrified of how he looked and his actions. I woke up then and I was so scared that I couldnt go back to sleep.
I didnt tell about this to my bf..and when we had an argument the other day he was like "why the hell are you acting as if you are poessessed by the devil or something?!" and that really hurt and freaked me out.
Am I dreaming this b/c I am stressed out a lot lately due to family issues? I am so confused and hurt. :(

You can relax. Dreams are merely that: dreams. They mean or portend nothing. But it *is* possible that you've been overly concerned lately about religious matters, and maybe ones having to do with hell. And then your subconscious simply hops aboard and rides that while you're sleeping.

Try to think about other things, and not worry about hell or Satan, and the dreams will probably stop.

Dreams are your subconcious mind communicating through images the day to day events in your life. Your subconcious mind has a hard time telling you thing literally so the communication is symbolic. It is hard to say what the dreams means since you did not gave details as to what is going on in your life right now. If I have to take a guess then it has to do with what is going on with your family at the moment.

Remember that dreams are custome made for you. Me dreaming of the devil has a very different significance that you dreaming of the devil. Symbols meaning can coinside withing the same group of people. For example your group of friend or family since they usually share the same values or similar values.

What you need to do is analyze what the "devil" means to you. What "rape" means to you and how that plays into the current event in your life right now. For example, lets say a person dreams of an arduous journey. A person is trying to climb a difficult clift or is trying to navigate its way through a dark room. A dream of this type usually means that the person is having difficulties. So, you interview the person and you find out that he/she has some finantial problems. Voila! mystery solved. The dream was reflecting the persons current economical situation or the forseen hardship they will have because of their finacial situation. You do the same thing. You have to see what those symbols in your dream represent. Why was the rapist represented as a devil and not as someone else. Is it because you are religious? is it because is an evil act and who can be more evil than the devil?

You also have to take into account that not all symbols in your dream are important or meaningful. Like Freud said, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Finally, I don't think that what your boyfriend said about being posesses has the same meaning as what you give it. He probably means that you are behaving as if you where posessed because to your reaction to the stress you are under as opposed to him believing that there is an evil entity taking over you.

There is a light side and dark side to every person...maybe the dark side is taking over? Also...stress CAN lead to disturbing dreams...I mean, my gf has seen some pretty crazy things when she was stressed...I'm sorry that you're seeing these things..but I think it would be best if you talk to your boyfriend, he may be able to help you somehow. I help my gf when she sees stuff like that...Hell I even see some pretty gruesome things when I'm stressed or angry or depressed. So I think it's all in the mind...maybe you had a bad experience? (Like...not trying to pry...but...maybe you got raped when you were younger and it's being brought up again, maybe it's a repressed memory of something that happened to you trying to resurface, or something like that.) The mind is a powerful gift...and curse. I think that seeing things and everything is all in the mind. My gf...she sees things and if something hits hurt or cuts her or something...when the episode is over, there are cuts/bruises where she was cut/hit etc. Pretty creepy but I think that it's all neurological...I don't know...if you want more help on it..I'll be happy to talk to you about it...and I could give you some good links too. Anyway, I'm sorry that you had those horrifiing dreams, and if I was too personal sorry for that too.

The important thing to remember about dreams is that they are symbolic, not literal. The significance is not in the exact happenings of the dream, but how you felt about them and what they mean to you in a metaphoric sense. Dreams can't hurt you, but they may be a signal from your subconscious trying to help you understand very deep feelings.

Devils frequently represent some force opposing you or something that you're afraid of.

Possibly problems in your family could be making you feel like parts of your life are out of your control, and you feel threatened and helpless.

The cure is to acknowledge these feelings, reassure yourself that you'll deal as best you can and that things have a way of turning out all right. And if the devil comes into your dreams again, tell him to scram, he has no power there.

I don't know. But when I was a new Christian I had some bad dreams about the devil but they went away within a couple of weeks. Are you a new Christian? Stress or hormones could have something to do with it. Did you have PMS at the time? If you are not a Christian, I advise you to start reading the Bible (New Testament) and praying. Ask God to reveal Himself to you and forgive your sins. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and start following Him. Pray that God will direct you to some good Christian friends and a good church. I'll pray for you. John 3:16

Stop believing the devil exists. Realize that evil is not a force but a perception. Know that bad things happen and people do bad things. The sooner you stop obsessing about the devil the sooner you'll stop being bothered by it.
I hope the family issues come to a happy resolution.

It doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. What does the devil signify to you? Our subconscious uses symbolism in our dreams to express things that go on in our conscious lives. You have to answer these things for yourself. I don't think you have to worry about anything supernatural, though. The fact that you freak yourself out so much makes it likely that you are expressing these fears more in your dreams.

There are no InvisibleSkyGuys called God or Devil or Satan or Santa.

They were invented by rulers to keep the peasants in line.
Look elsewhere for you inspiration.

Do you believe in God? Knowing Jesus as a friend in your heart, can help you. Cause the devil we pick on people who does not know God. And he picks on the christians who does not live right. Go to God in prayer and talk to Him about it. But you have to believe He will listen. And I know He Will!

The devil only exists if you let him. By believing in such a figure you allow yourself to be haunted.
The creation of "evil" to justify the "Church" is ironic since they are not oppossite at all.
