What do you think about the charismatic gifts debate today? "Are the sign gifts present today? Why or why not?"

Of course they are in use today - if you believe. Baptists will never see gifts because they do not believe. Charismatics do see them because they do believe.

There is not a verse in the Bible that says gifts will cease. The closest misinterpretation of the bible is in 1 Cor 13 :8
where Paul says some gifts will cease, but Love never fails. In this text, he says Knowledge, Tongues and Prophecy will go away. Some think that this indicates that tongues and the gift of prophecy died out in the early church. However, we still have knowledge, therefore, why have only tongues and prophecy gone away? Because they have not gone away - they will be here until Jesus returns.

But, if you do not expect them, they will never happen. That is why I left the Baptist church. They only got you saved. After salvation, there was no other training. The Bible instructs us to be filled with the spirit, as shown by speaking in tongues. The spirit filled life is what gives you the power to overcome the enemy and sin in your life.
