I just listened to some dude speak about giving for a special event. So he talks about listening to Gods voice, and instructs on how God might tell people in the church what to give.

He explains that people may need to budget more effiently to give the right amount that God tells you!

Then he uses all the usuall verses in the bible that talk about stewardship etc. (aint it funny that everyone on earth has heard a sermon on giving)

Finaly he closed up after 25 minutes and briefly says they dont want to be manipulative, God loves a cheerfull giver (the most unused verse - most prefer to mention the tithe) etc etc

Practice ehat you preach. Surely its more spirtual for a pastor to trust that God will tell people to give, rather than have the pastor hypmotise people into believing that god will tell them to give a certain amount.

I imagine that eventually religion will come up with anyone I date and I'm agnostic. So I guess when I say that that could definitely put the relationship into danger, no? So what do I do? I dont want to lie, but I dont want to lose a relationship either?

Not many girls are agnostic or atheist right?

Can animals see spirits that we can't? Why do they stand at the bottom of the stairs and bark up at nothing? My Nan's dog wakes her up in the middle of the night barking and taking her intot he bathroom for no apparent reason. He won't settle.

If a line is the inside-taken-out of an infinitely small point, and a plane is the inside-taken-out of a line, and a cube is the inside-out of a plane, and time is the in-side out of a cube (three dimentionality, just later)--then what is the inside-out of time?

I have tried to get in touch with Jesus but I am still waiting to hear from him. I have prayed and asked for a sign but as yet nothing has happened. Does he not like me? I used to attend church and was told that God or Jesus would make themselves known to me but I am still waiting years later. What sign should I be looking out for? I still pray and ask for help sometimes but I feel silly. Why won't they make themselves known with a sign I can't ignore? Please answer in a way I can understand, no bible quotes.

I'm tired of these hos my neighborhood talking all of this trash about. She was in y drama class last school year and she just started to hate on me since day one becuase the guy she liked wanted to go out with me instead of her. Then she started to gossip about and started to send childish messages on my myspace. I confronted her and told her basically get your name out of my mouth or else i'm gonna have to slap name out of your mouth. She keeps on going at it tellin everyone that i had sex with the entire football team and that i was preganant. None on of these things are true. I know where she lives and lately shes been mouthing off about me and my girls.

Do you really think the whole stigma about homosexuality, or sexuality in general is forced on you by others and society?

These so called Christians are very negative...they call the world a terrible place.

The world is God's creation...is it not?

These people are so obsessed with the end of the world it is unsettling.

Where is the joy and peace that God brings?

Are your sights so set on man that you do not see or appreciate the beauty of the world?

Have you ever travelled? Have you seen the mountains, the oceans, the plains?

Have you ever seen human kindness? The generosity of the human spirit...people who volunteer time and money to helping the less fortunate?

Haven't you witnessed a child giving flowers to an invalid, or a neighbor mowing his neighbors yard?

Good things happen every day...I am amazed that you so-called Christians do not see the good...but, only the bad....

I think it would be therapeutic for atheists to finally admit what scares them so much about the bible. I'll start.

When I was fourteen years old I was beaten and mugged by a group of drunken Bibles (you read that right). These Bibles beat me relentlessly until I could no longer perform simple logical operations. It took three years of therapy before I finally started to believe in evolution again. Whenever I walk through a dark alley, I still worry that a copy of the New Testament will jump out of the shadows and attack me.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, I was wondering why some other atheists are afraid of the bible.
