If a line is the inside-taken-out of an infinitely small point, and a plane is the inside-taken-out of a line, and a cube is the inside-out of a plane, and time is the in-side out of a cube (three dimentionality, just later)--then what is the inside-out of time?

This concept comes from a famous old book: "Flatland." I'm not sure that religion will be part of your answer, but faith and spiritual insight must surely be. Cheers

I watched a video called "The Dimensions of Space Time", it was based on the Flatland concept. Basically, it stated that we are stuck in this dimension, so that God, who is outside of time, could be right next to you, and you'd never see Him.

It explained a lot, but I'm sure my finite mind cannot even fathom what it is like to be outside of time.

The examples given in it made you understand that you cannot understand something, unless you have experienced it. The main one was, a cube, you know it has 6 sides, but you cannot see all of the sides at the same time. You cannot even imagine seeing all sides at the same time, yet you know they are there.

Thanks for this great question, by the way.

"Flatland" is a fun read. But the definitions mentioned here are inapt; the concept of "inside out" isn't sufficiently well defined to be useful. Time can be considered to be a dimension in the sense that equations such as S^2 = x^2 + y^2 + z^2 + (i c t)^2 are useful, but the "i" in the expression gives the whole thing a bit of unreality and it becomes difficult to unscrew the inscrutable.

I'd answer that, but I am to busy swaying back and forth and sounding a "peace-cry" as I walk, you know - in order to be perceived as more than just a point.....

dunno but i know there are multiple dimensions we are not currently allowed to see into.

jesus after his resurrection ate was physical yet supernatural and walked through walls etc...

he existed in another dimension was not subject to the material aspects of this dimension.

contemplation of the supernatural is an awesome thing. have a smokey and a drink and talk about it. :-)

What or why on earth does spirituality have to have anything to do with dimensions?
