There is no way to tell if someone is an angel or not, but if the person has a family that you have met and you have seen photos of them from childhood, most likely they are human. That doesn't mean that an angel won't take the form of your friend to teach you something or to save you or just to pass on a message. We are taught in the old Testament that we are to show hospitality and care for even the strangers among us and that we should always show god's love. that is the test that angels will give and they will step in to save the needy.
Just be nice and show god's love and you will be fine.

The chances are that you would not recognise them as an Angel unless they performed some task for God which you were able to witness. Angels come in many forms including as humans..yes that's right.it is not just one of those things you see in films.
God moves in mysterious ways.

u don't normally realize they were sent from God until their gone. once God sent someone who i thought was a demon to teach me a lesson. patience. :] God works in many ways

If your friend exists and others can see them then they aren't an angel. Angels, demons, and gods only exist in your imagination.
