When we are baptised we are:

A. Buried with Christ into His death - Ro 6:3-4
B. Raised with Him to newness of life - Ro 6:4-5
C. Crucified with Him, thus made free from sin - Ro 6:6-7,17-18
D. Clothed with Christ - Ga 3:27
E. Washed from our sins - Ac 22:16
F. Recipients of the remission of sins - Ac 2:38
G. Baptized into the body (church) of Christ - 1 Co 12:13

Some Christians don't believe that we have to be baptised but don't you know that baptism is a symbol of death, burial and resurrection in Jesus? When we go down in the water, that symbolizes your Burial, (Immersion fully), When someone is buried they are not sprinkled with water, they are fully covered, When we come up from the Water, it symbolizes Resurrection, the day we will rise to Gods glory.

If we aren't baptised, then we are not obeying Gods command.
Jesus said "If you love me, you will keep my commandments". Baptism is not an outward sign to others, its a comittment to God.

What do you say?

The other day, I was watching a TV chanel that was promoting for christianity. The priest was reciting verses from the Holy Qur'an that indicated how devine Jesus was and he was trying to impose the idea of Jesus as in the christian beliefs. OK, the verses are quite true but they are read in the wrong context. The last time I checked, christians deny the Qur'an but yet they can still use it to prove the devinity of Jesus. How hypocrite do you think that is?

First, my father's brother passed away about ten years ago leaving a wife of three years. My family hardly ever got to know her and did not have much of a relationship after his death.

My mother was adament that she was not invited to my sister's wedding, which my father initially agreed upon as well. However, his family threatened to not show up to the wedding is my aunt was not invited, therefore my father invited her, also after being handed $1000 from his parents.

About a week later, once my uncle's widow received the invitiation, my father rescinded the invitation, telling her that he only sent it due to the threats from his family. Was this right?

Also, my sister invited one of my friend (well, he's not really a friend, he's someone i've known for the past 10 years amd everyone gets annoyed by). After overhearing from my sister that she did not receive a gift from him, my father calledh im and told him he used poor wedding etiquette. Was this right?

Is there an SCA version of Myspace?

I'm pretty insular- how do I go about finding other SCA people who have interests like my own without either a) volunteering/participating in activity after activity while quietly seeking or b) subjecting people I meet to 'So what are you into, do you like___' etc?

I've been ridiculed here for making statements about evolution by atheists who say I don't know what I'm talking about. They say science has proved evolution. Whenever I mention a scientist, the atheists here belittle him, and say he's not a major scientist. Evolution is founded by well educated scientists.

I would like to point out one thing. Can we take the king of evolution, Charles Darwin. This is the man that started the evolutionary fairy tale. Do people here realize that Charles Darwin, "The King of Evolution", wasn't even a scientist? His education in college was in Theology.

So who's more influential in science? A Ph. d. in a scientific field, or someone who has no scientific degree?

Charles Darwin, the leader of the evolutionary movement, had 0 degrees in science. If he was a Creationist, we Christians would never hear the end of that.

He flew in to Charleston a day after the Democrats had a debate on CNN from the Citadel (hmmm ... coincidence?)

He landed at 11am, and left at 1:30pm, with the entire entourage of course (his local Republican congregation included, up for re-election). He wasn't performing any essential function, he was proselytizing.

Should politicians have the Treasury purse and other public assets (Air Force One) at their disposal for such wasteful (and merely POLITICAL) purposes?

Have you tried wasting your neighbor's money on frivolous, self-aggrandizing pursuits? Oh you probably couldn't get away with it ... put a politician can!

Would Jesus want our government to be so wasteful (especially His chosen party)?

I was asleep and woke suddenly. I opened my eyes and saw a ghost like, full color image of a man sitting in my bed staring at me. When he saw me see him he said 'hello'. I screamed and he vanished. I jumped out of my bed and took a few moments to think about what happened. I wasn't frozen so this makes me think it wasn't simply a lucid dream, but I don't know. Also, he spoke to me? Can ghosts talk? I am not afraid of ghosts but noone wants to think someone, alive or dead, is watching them sleep without their knowledge. Any explanations besides calling me crazy?

The king [David] took the two sons of Rizpah, . . . and the five sons of Michal; . . . and he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the Lord. . . . And after that God was entreated for the land. (2 Sam. 21:8, 9, 14.)

And he [God] said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah, and offer him there for a burnt offering. (Gen. 22:2.)

and I won't even get into the Jesus thing....it's all so vile, inhuman, and bloody!

As a small child, you knew nothing and were everything. This is innocence. As you grew, you learned about boundaries; what you are and what you are not; what is possible and what is not. You learned to live within those boundaries. This is ignorance. As you matured, you began to challenge those boundaries, to live in the wisdom of your own secret knowing, to follow the wind instead of your own stifled breath, to follow your heart that would to set you free, rather than your mind which would have you safely imprisoned. This is knowledge.
But what are the boundaries of this infinity which teases you? Where could the boundaries be but within your own treasured knowledge which has thus far led you to freedom but now shows you it's own boundaries; the boundary of mind itself?
Do you know that you are all things manifest and unmanifest? How can mind know this? Mind is one of those things. What you think you know has imprisoned you. You seek a clean slate. Tabula Rasa!

Is it that they have created entities called demons by their faith that such things are real to them?
Is it because they are hiding the evil that dwells within them and are afraid of anything that might shed light on their darkness?
Is it because all Christians believe in the malignant spirits that they believe they might become or draw to themselves via their own darkness?

OuiJa is nothing but an amplifier of what is within those who play with this "toy."
