I am Pagan, but if I were to convert to Christianity it would be largely due to one specific verse of the New Testiment. What is this one beautiful verse? 10 points to first correct answer. Keep it short.

I'm breaking my own rule about answers/questions in others beliefs. but this question is meant in good spirit.

I mean, I can see why they'd want Jesus to take the fall for their sins. That just takes selfishness and a lack of integrity.

After all, no -honest- person would let another take his/her place.

Honest people, with integrity, pay for their own crimes.

But with christians its "Jesus died on the cross to pay for my crimes". So it is actually holy to escape responsibility for your own crimes.

"Jesus did it, punish him, just let me into heaven and don't burn me in the lake of fire and brinstone".

This is why Jesus died? To help a bunch of ne'er do wells escape paying for the crimes they've committed? These are the people their god wants in his heaven?

I guess that's why I don't fit in.

I want to be around people who take the fall for their own stuff, rather than people who are looking for others to take the blame and pay the price.

But I'm just funny that way.

(o.O)

What say you?

A lady was crossing the road with her daughter and was crushed by a cement truck outside our office. I want to go to her funeral but there was no orbits posted following the incident in the news. On a hunch I called up a funeral home close to where we live (come to find out the lady lives not far from me also) and was told that she was cremated but there will be a memorial service on Saturday and Sunday. My questions are can anyone go to a memorial or only by invitation. I never went to one so I don't know what to expect. What should I wear? Is there something special I need to do when I go? I am hindu, the lady has a hispanic name so I am not sure what religion she might of been.

Thanks for your advice ( in advance) and no rude comments please.

I respect the great knowledge of Old Testament of the Orthodox Jew and often seek to glean whatever he has to say about interpretation on the OT scripture! Who was Proverbs 8:22-31 making reference to? Thank you, for your great wealth of knowledge that you are so kind to share!

I'm a food distributor and I would like to know if its appropriate to ask the following to current customers..

Is it appropriate to ask current customers the following:

"If there is anyone that you know that you think can use my services and products, I would love for you to either refer me to them or have you let them know about me and my contact information."

Is this appropriate and professional?

Any suggestions on how to tweak this statement - question?

Questioning Catholic wants to know...

I've heard many times over the years that homosexuals ought to behave in a mild, modest way, that they should conform to "proper" societal standards; that if only they'd stop putting rainbow stickers on their cars and marching in parades and embracing in public and demanding equal treatment under the law, they wouldn't be marginalized and mistreated.

Does this sound reasonable? Do homosexuals deserve respect and civility only if they contort into the mold deemed "appropriate"? Should they all assume a placid, reserved manner after being threatened with further bigotry, discrimination and mistreatment in the event that they fail to conform to the behavioral standards of society?

I ask in this section because it tends to be those of a strong Judeo-Christian conviction who assert the position in question, and what better place to ask than the section in which they're most likely to be?

does that question offend you because you believe that that's not what you do?

if so, don't accuse the Church and the Catholics of something they don't do, because it's offensive.

do unto others what you want to be done unto you.

(there, I re-phrased the post in the hope that you, fundies, would understand it well and answer sensibly not emotionally.)
