According to the Hebrew Talmud Lilith was Adams first wife. She was created in the same way and at the same time that Adam was. They were meant to be mates and equal partners. "There is the rub." It is the source behind the age old power struggle of man & woman.

sound familiar?

Lilith left Adam to form a union with a "fallen angel aka demon" Their offspring have been called demons, witches, vampires, gods, godesses, amazons, giants, etc.

God then created Eve from Adams rib to be the perfect help mate for him.

The Christian Bible leaves out the story of Adam and Lilith instead it begins with Adam & Eve.

Lilith was said to have cursed the children of Adam and Eve with the promise that her 'offspring' would always kill, prey upon and destroy the offspring of Adam and Eve"

Perhaps that is why some people murder their own loved ones. Perhaps they are the combined products of Adam, Eve, Lilith & the fallen Angel aka demon.

For when Caine went into the land of Nod: Did he marry an ape? Did he take one of Liliths children for a wife? Did he steal one of his own sisters for an incestuous marriage?

Or perhaps the people of Nod were a combination union of ape, man & fallen angel aka demon, hence it would explain how man and ape evolved! And why some of us seem to be more blood thirsty toward others of our kind than some people are. It explains the struggle of good & evil that goes on inside of many of us today.

The apostle Paul warned Christians not to "know" or lust after strange flesh. He was referring to Angels. When Angels physically mix with humans it is supposedly a fall from grace for both Angel and human.

Apparently there was some jealousy amidst the Angels toward God. They seen the immaculate conception of Mary and the birth of Jesus, the son of God, as a double standard.

If this was good enough for God then they felt it should be their right also. Some of the Angels rebelled. According to the Bible God forbade Angels forming a physical union with humans.

This explains why some of us may have been gifted with psychic ability and other abilities, esp, precognitive dreams, etc.

The fallen angel aka demon was afterall once an Angel.

People tend to fear those things which they don't allow themselves the chance to understand. Understanding helps to eliminate the fear.

Most of the people here have given you the gist of the story; however it contains many contradictions. It is said that Lilith was 'cast out'; that is not true, SHE LEFT and refused to come back. Angels were sent to bring her back but they could not make her do so, because she was TOO POWERFUL for them. The child-killing nonsense is also base slander; since Lilith represented rebellion against patriarchal domination, the 'child-killing' business was introduced in order that women would not "get any ideas" and remain subjugated to men. The reason Jewish women are forced to shave their heads has to do with Lilith as well; Lilith is said to have long hair, which for some reason has a curious effect on angels (it attracts them) . Lilith is also known as "the Flame of the Revolving Sword", (referring to the sword that turns at the gates of the Garden of Eden) and has power to judge humanity, hence the fear and hatred with which she is regarded by the patriarchy. I can recommend a book "The Book of Lilith" by Barbara Koltuv-Black.

Lilith was Adam's first wife, in ancient Hebrew lore.

She insisted on equality, even being on top during sex. She was too uppity, so god and Adam gave her the sack, creating a more subservient Eve instead.

In later versions of the story, Lilith (and all "uppity" women) were then demonized (literally) as Lilith supposedly went off to live in a dark cave and giving birth to demons and monsters and such.

Lilith was Adam's first wife in the Garden of Eden, according to old Jewish lore and tradition. But during sexual intercourse, Lilith refused to bow down to Adam. He grew angered that Lilith would not submit to him and be passive. So, in other words, she left him in a flash of light and echoed the name of God to him before leaving the Garden of Eden. It would be some time before Adam would find another companion until God made Eve out of his left rib. Because of this, and her femenistic approach towards sex, Lilith was turned into a demon by the patriarchal religions. It was said that she kiled young babies in their sleep and drank their blood. It was also said that she is the mother of all demons with Satan or Samael.

Lilith (lĭl´ĭth) , female demon of Jewish mythology, originally probably the Assyrian storm demon Lilitu. In Talmudic tradition many evil attributes were given to this supposedly nocturnal creature. In Jewish folklore she is a vampirelike child-killer and the symbol of sensual lust. Of the various legends connected with her, the one making her Adam's first wife is the strongest. Lilith appears in the Walpurgis Night section of Goethe's Faust and is discussed in Bernard Shaw's Back to Methuselah.

thanks!

I think it is Jewish folklore or hidden teachings of mystical Rabbis.
From what I remember, Lilith was formed of the same stuff as Adam but displeased him because she refused to play his subordinate, especially in bed. She fled the Garden rather than accept his sense of authority over her. She politically allied herself with demons she met to save herself from death and is thought by demonologists to be a vampire of newborns out of hatred for Eve who needed Adam more than self deterimination. She is depicted with a scary face, long dark hair, wings and claws.
There are other tales and myths about her, this is the only one I know very well.

Yes. She was borni nthe eart, gave birth to Adam and then Cain. She defied God by honouring her mother (the Earth) first and was cast out. later she returned in various guises (owl, deer, snake) and also took Cain under her tutelage when he was cast out into the wilderness and became his bride also.

The story is alot longer, but that's the very short version.
